Asobi Asobase Fandub (Post 1)
Project Overview
Hello, all!
My name is MilliCul and I run a couple different projects. Most notable is my dub of Mage and Demon Queen.
I'm currently putting together (slowly but surely) a fandub of the anime Asobi Asobase. The anime is about three middle school girls; Olivia is a blonde-haired beauty who was born and raised in Japan, but can’t speak any English. Despite always acting serious and as an intellectual, Kasumi is a bespectacled girl with short hair, who also can’t speak English. Finally, there’s the pig-tailed Hanako, who’s cheerful but can’t seem to become a normie. The three middle schoolers end up making a “Pastimers Club”.

Hanako is a hyperactive and impulsive person who often says and does whatever comes to her mind. This often leads her to act without thinking about the consequences of her actions or be led on by someone else's lies, which more often than not causes trouble for her and her friends. She is also very competitive, which often escalates an already troublesome situation to uncontrollable proportions. Hanako's misadventures happen so often that in the Student Council's records, all the disasters that happened involving the Pastimers Club can be traced back to her. Ironically, despite being the most short-sighted of the Past-timers Club and considered dumb by her friends, Hanako is the smartest in terms of academic performance and excels significantly compared to them but her success is throttled due to her erratic behavior.
(a shocked and slightly pained scream)
No!! That's not how it goes!!
I keep telling you, if you look the other way, then you're safe, you got that?!
And you're supposed to flick me, not slap me!
(high-pitched scream)
Again with that stupid shrugging pose?! Stuuupiiiiid!!!
Soooo done being your guide through the school!
Initially, Kasumi was a very anti-social person as she stays away from people in general. As a child, she often lost when playing games with her sister and had to carry out tasks as punishment. This led her to have a very strong aversion to all games. It wasn't until her encounter with Olivia and Hanako Honda that she began to change her outlook on games and people. She initially sought out Hanako and Olivia and created the Pastimers Club to learn English from Olivia, but as time passed she began to appreciate the companionship provided by the two so much that when Olivia revealed the truth that she couldn't speak English, Kasumi forgave her immediately because they were 'already in a club.' She treasures her friendship with Hanako and Olivia dearly, even if it does often lead her to disastrous events.
Kasumi is often seen as a shy and introverted girl. She often speaks in a timid and friendly manner and is often unwilling to impose on her friends. However, her shy demeanor deceptively hides her 'dark side'. When driven to be serious or angered, Kasumi displays another side of her that is cold, sadistic, and sometimes violent. This side of her can intimidate and strike fear into the people around her, even her own friends.
(threateningly) Rock-paper-scissors. Look the other way.
(She's just shoved her fingers, hard, into Olivia's nose. Before that, Olivia had slapped her tits very hard. She's angry but doesn't show it.) *This* is how *real* look the other way is played.
I'm very sorry I'm late. I was in the staff's office, registering our club. ...They rejected it. We can't make a club with just three people.
She is the one who lead to Kasumi's inital disdain for games.
Ehehe~
Well, now the loser has to go buy ice cream for everyone!
