Ashline
Project Overview
ASHLINE — PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Ashline is a dystopian, character-driven animated series set in a divided world split between an oppressive underground society and a seemingly perfect upper city.
Below the surface, life is harsh, quiet, and controlled by survival. People don’t dream—they endure. Above them lies a world of light, order, and comfort… a world most have never seen.
The story follows Reid, a quiet and observant teen from the undercity who begins to question everything he’s been told after discovering something impossible: a way into the upper world.
Alongside him are his two closest friends:
Tess, a calm and practical realist who believes survival matters more than hope
Jace, an energetic and emotional thinker who refuses to accept that change is impossible
As they uncover the truth about the world above, their beliefs clash, their bond is tested, and the line between safety and freedom begins to blur.
TONE / STYLEAshline focuses on:
grounded character interactions
emotional storytelling
dystopian atmosphere
subtle worldbuilding through dialogue and environment
While the world is divided and harsh, the story is driven by relationships, trust, and personal change, not constant action.
VOICE ACTING DIRECTIONWe are looking for natural, grounded performances. Characters should feel real and human rather than exaggerated.
Emotional subtlety is important
Dialogue should feel conversational, not theatrical
Chemistry between characters is a major focus
Reid (Main Character)
Tess (Support / Realist / Strategist)
Jace (Support / Emotional / Impulsive)
