Artists needed for Disney-style animatic

Project Overview

I am currently directing a voice-acted animatic of Les Miserables. If you are interested in auditioning for spoken roles, please click here. 


Les Miserables was originally written by Victor Hugo in France, though it has reached countless audiences and adaptations across the globe. One of these auditions is a musical production by Alain Boublin and Claude-Michel Schonberg, with lyrics by Herbert Kretzmer- which is what we are trying to recreate. 


I will be hiring three groups of people for this project:

-Background Artists: Their job is to 'paint' elaborate backgrounds, upon which the character animations will be portrayed. These people will need to be open to research about the time period that Les Mis is set in. 
-Line Artists: This group's job is to create Disney-style line art of all the characters. This line art must be relatively simple yet versatile- after all, your work is the backbone of the physical animation part of this project. You will need to be able to draw the same things over and over again in slightly different positions in order to qualify. These people must work together to decide on a common art style to be used across the animatic.
-Color Artists: These people's job is to color in the line art put out by the line artists. They must work together to agree on a color palette for every scene- which is trickier than it sounds. In order to qualify, you need a good eye for colors and have a basic understanding of color theory.


Things Required:

-Lots of free time

-Copies of your past work

-A good attitude

-A discord account

-The ability to work well in a team

-A basic understanding of digital art



Things Preferred:

-An understanding of the time period in which Les Mis is set

Color artists need to have a basic understanding of color theory- after all, they're picking out the palettes for every drawn character! They all must agree and remember the same color palettes to make the animatic look smoother. Perhaps a google doc...? I am looking for six color artists.
