Arby 'n' the Chief: Next Gen Recast+Auditions for Side Stories 3
Project Overview
Hey there everyone! This isn't necessarily a casting call for Season 2 of Arby 'n' the Chief: Next Gen, but rather a recasting call for some previous roles that will be appearing in the upcoming third Side Story as well as Season 2 of Next Gen. Alongside these roles are a few new ones that will be introduced in Side Stories 3.
If you are unfamiliar with Arby 'n' the Chief: Next Gen or Arby 'n' the Chief in general, Arby 'n' the Chief is a webseries created by Jon CJG that was popular among those in the gaming and machinima community. It involved two action figures, the Master Chief and the Arbiter, and their misadventures meeting extreme personalities online. The show started as sort of a Family Guy meets Toy Story show with the toys getting into antics every episode, but would eventually involve into more of a narrative when Jon introduced the concept of fragban in Season 5. (Note: fragban is essentially described as if you kill someone in a game of Halo, their account is banned from online play and their personal info is stolen). The show itself is an extreme satire of toxic online behavior, with Chief being the embodiment of an online troll vs the Arbiter who is more of a calm and collected individual and is more open minded. As such, a word of warning as the show utilized many offensive terms that some people may be triggered by.
Disclaimer: This is not glorifying such behavior, rather mocking the ridiculousness of it.
Arby 'n' the Chief: Next Gen was my project after the initial end of Season 7 with the toys blowing themselves up. It is a continuation of the narrative aspect of Arby 'n' the Chief, with returning and new characters expanding upon the hacker concepts introduced in Season 5 of the original show. Alongside the hacker villains, there are other toys alongside Arbiter and Chief who will interact with them and even at times help them with the hacker threat.
The auditions below are these action figures. I am bringing them back from the Next Gen movie by popular demand for more live action scenes. Many retain the personalities and behavior of their pop culture counterparts, while others tend to sort of break off from their 'programming' if you want to call it that. What I am looking for is unique voices that can capture the essence of said characters, or even do spot-on impressions of the more popular ones. I will be addressing what I am looking for in the said roles.
One thing to note is the examples provided are from the Arby 'n' the Chief: Next Gen Movie, which is very early content and will not reflect the quality of the content in the future. Expect cringe.
Please note these guidelines for the auditions:
- Voice modification for roles is allowed but not required. However, if you get a role, it will be expected that you do the post production effects yourself if any were used. However, I urge you to send in a raw unedited file in the event that your effects make the audition worse.
- If you are casted in one of the roles, it is likely you will be reprising said role in Season 2 of Arby 'n' the Chief: Next Gen unless you feel the need to drop out at some point.
- Do as many takes and characters as you feel. If you don't know how to add in audio effects, don't worry, as I'll be modifying the audio to see how close I can get to how I want your voice to sound. At the very least get the inflections down and do all the lines given.
- Submit your recordings as .wav or .mp3 please. Do not send .flac, .aiff, or any other type of file that aren't .wav or .mp3.
- Please name your auditions as (Your Name Here)(Character Name Here)audition. For example: AndrewBeamSoundwaveAudition or LordJazorDeathstrokeAudition.
- Make sure there's not much background noise or too much reverb as too much audio cleaning will harm the quality of the audio. Reverb is okay for the Transformers roles as they already have echoey voices. Reverb for those of you unaware is when there is echoing in the background.
- Have fun with your audition! Feel the character, go all out if you need to! Do different voice variations if you feel like it! I'm open to hearing new interpretations!
- Don't forget that these are not supposed to be the actual characters from their respective source materials, rather they are action figures based off of those characters. Just to avoid any confusion.
- One important thing to note is that not all of these lines are in the scripts. They are from either source material or previous episodes/movies of Next Gen. This is to see if you can get the inflections/voices/tones down well.
- Note that while the roles listed below are considered minor, this is subject to change in Season 2 of Next Gen as the scripts for it have not been finished as of yet. This is mainly for Side Stories 3.
As for deadlines for these roles if you are casted, I am very lenient on when the lines are sent in by since this is a non-profit and non-paid gig. All I ask is that you keep in contact with me and update me on how it is coming along if you take longer than a month or two. We primarily will be speaking via email or discord, though if you prefer an alternate means of communication, feel free to let me know.
If there are any questions or comments you have, feel free to let me know!

In a surprising turn of events, Megatron actually has two voice actors! Norris Packard will be starting us off with the Transformers Armada Megatron (as David Kaye) who will eventually transfer himself into a G1 Megatron body voiced by Ryan Golden (as Frank Welker)! They both did a virtually perfect job and I loved the voices both so much I decided to do the best of both worlds! Thank you to everyone who auditioned! If you didn't get a role, there will likely be more available in future projects by me (possibly paid ones too)! As for those of you who got casted, the script is still in the works, but you will be notified once it's done. It's a pretty long script.

RECAST
Deadshot, the man who never misses, played a semi-supporting role in the Arby 'n' the Chief: Next Gen movie as Ultron's third-in-command behind Deathstroke. While he had more of a screen presence than other villains, he was quickly overpowered by Noble Team's leader, Carter, and apprehended alongside the rest of Ultron's army. He was intimidating, and acted tough and cocky when he felt he was in control of a situation.
Deadshot was previously voiced by Hesham Elshazly, who declined to return as he is doing paid roles only now. I am not so much looking for an impression of Hesham's Deadshot so much as I am getting the tone of his character right.

You may think you're a big shot, but don't forget that I'm a dead shot.
How about we just cut the crap and just call it what it is? We're a goddamn suicide squad.
It's nothing personal, Arbiter. It's just good business.
RECAST
Devastator did not have a lot of screentime in the Next Gen movie, but he did have an entire scene dedicated to fighting him. Devastator is a behemoth Transformer Combiner made up of the Constructicons Scavenger (formerly Demolisher in the Next Gen movie), Long Haul, Bonecrusher, Hook, Scrapper, and Mixmaster. While his size and brawn are immense, the strain of the six Constructicons makes him dumb as rocks, built more for devastation than rocket science. In the movie, he is taken out singlehandedly by Master Chief as a result of eating him, which allows him to bust out the back of Devastator's head and decapitate the behemoth. However, there is a possibility that Devastator still has some consciousness left in him despite his seeming demise at the hands of Chief.
Devastator in the movie was voiced by Bradley Frew, who has since seemingly stopped voice acting. For Devastator, I'm looking for something close to his voice in the movie. Deep, brutish, and robotic.

PREPARE FOR EXTERMINATION!
DEVASTATOR DESTROY!
RECAST
Everyone knows who Optimus Prime is, right? He's the famed leader of the Autobots and one of pop culture's biggest heroes. In Next Gen, he is the only Autobot character to show up on screen, often showing up to fend off the Decepticon characters away from the others, namely Megatron. He is much like his source material counterpart, a well spoken and fearless leader who knows how to be strong enough to be calm. He had the most screentime in the Next Gen movie out of all the Transformers characters.
Optimus Prime was voiced by Bradley Frew who has since seemingly quit voice acting. I am looking for someone who can give the same sort of voice, inflections, and tone as Peter Cullen's Optimus Prime.

Autobots, transform and roll out!
Freedom is the right of all sentient beings.
Combaticons, stand down or be destroyed!
RECAST
Surely where there is Optimus Prime, Megatron is not far behind? While Optimus's form is that of the Michael Bay movies, Megatron takes the form of the Armada incarnation of Megatron. Much like in Transformers Prime, in Next Gen, Optimus and Megatron were at one point friends before Ultron decided to throw a coup d'etat. And just like the source material, they started a rivalry, and would fight each other several times throughout the Next Gen movie until Optimus managed to get the best of him and toss him into Ultron, rendering the Decepticon leader unconscious. He would later be imprisoned with the rest of Ultron's army.
Megatron in the Next Gen movie was voiced by Jason Marnocha, AKA LordJazor, who would go on to voice Megatron in Netflix's War For Cybertron Siege and Earthrise series. Unfortunately, due to scheduling and only doing paid jobs now, this forced him to step down from the role. I am not necessarily looking for a complete recreation of Jason's voice, but rather to get the tone down of Megatron's maniacal, warmongering, and megalomaniac personality.

Enough of this prattle, Soundwave! I order you to follow my command!
RECAST
Barricade was that police cruiser decepticon from the first Michael Bay Transformers movie. That was pretty much his entire character in that right? Not that Next Gen was much better on how it utilized him. In the Next Gen movie, he acted as the leader of Ultron's enforcers alongside Sideways and Crankcase, often keeping them in line when they get restless. Last we see him, he and the other two enforcers are getting pwned by a bunch of clone troopers half their size. He would be imprisoned with the rest of Ultron's army. Out of all of Ultron's enforcers, he has the most screentime and dialogue.
Barricade was voiced by Hesham Elshazly who has since started doing only paid voicework. I am not looking for an exact replica of Hesham's take, but rather to get down that sarcastic attitude that he has in the 2007 Transformers video game (where he's voiced by Keith David). But really, surprise me.

I'm always the bad cop. And don't bother asking for the good cop. I probably killed him.
Prisoner abuse. You know that's a crime, right? Going to have to exercise some... police brutality.
I've been waiting years to do this...
RECAST
Sideways is a Decepticon appeared in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen where he got cut-in-half by Sideswipe all within the timespan of a minute. I wish I could say I did more with him, but he appears only a few times alongside Barricade and Crankcase before getting pwned by the clone troopers in part 3 of the movie. But hey, I left him alive so he could do more later, right? Right????
Sideways was voiced by Hesham Elshazly, who went on to do paid-only voicework. I'm not really looking for an impression of his Sideways, rather your own take on the character. He was portrayed as being impatient and eager for a fight.

Things are about to go sideways for you...
This is payback for locking us up as long as you did!
RECAST
Scavenger (formerly named Demolishor) is the leader of the Constructicons, who form the colossal behemoth Devastator. He appeared a few times in the Next Gen movie, and last appeared when the Constructicon's formed Devastator. He makes up Devastator's torso.
Scavenger's was voiced by Bradley Frew, who has since seemingly stopped voice acting. He had a voice similar to Demolishor's voice from Revenge of the Fallen, so I'd like something very close to that if possible. If not, just send me a raw audio file and I'll see what I can do.
See him in action here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=88QHQxkounk&t=1139s
Constructicons, merge for the kill!
Constructicons, attack!
Destroy them!
RECAST
Everyone knows everyone's favorite friendly neighborhood arachnid. Spider-Man appeared in Next Gen for a few scenes, but didn't see much action outside of fighting Venom and Devastator. Much like his comic book counterpart, he's quick witted and tends to throw quips at his foes. However, he also knows when to get serious.
Spider-Man was voiced by Hesham Elshazly, who has went on to only doing paid work. I'm not looking for an impression of any specific incarnation, but I want someone who can get his general tone of character down.
With great power comes great responsibility.
Hey buddy! I think you lost this!
Hey, you guys remember that scene from Empire? The one with the AT-AT's on Hoth? I think I got an idea!
RECAST
War Machine is Iron Man's best friend, often backing him up in fights. He appeared sporadically in the Next Gen movie, fighting Iron Monger and Starscream and defeating both. He would later appear with Iron Man in The Move to help set up the TV and Xbox. He's shown to be tough and sports a sort of attitude, but he's also known to be pretty family.
Admittedly, I voiced him in his roles, but now it just feels weird for me to voice him. I want someone who can get his attitude and behavior from the Spider-Man 90s cartoon: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X5_4u9FbP6s
(Sarcastically during a fight) Wrong. Iron Man's the other guy, but thanks for the compliment!
All right, you monsters want war? You got it... South Philly style.
(Jokingly) I hate hearing mom and dad fight...
RECAST
Few people can carry the definition of a bully more than Caden. He is a jerk to everyone, including his friends. He is also pretty strong and loves to fight. In Next Gen, he is constantly seen being a nuisance to his allies, and getting into fights with the Halo Reach Elites. He was last seen being rounded up with the rest of Ultron's army.
Bradley Frew voiced Caden in Next Gen, and has since seemingly stopped voice acting. I am looking for someone who can do a good impression of a Brute from Halo with a lot of aggression in the voice.
Yeah, what are we supposed to do, Deathstroke? Twiddle our thumbs while the rest of those weaklings run around free?
Oooooh, a big fight! I love it!
Let's go, pipsqueak!
RECAST
Carter is the leader of Noble Team, and is an astute soldier. He and Kat also had a romantic relationship going on somewhat, and he’d nearly kill anyone who laid a finger on her. He would prove this when Kat was held hostage by Deadshot, leaping on him and almost beating him to death. He would later be seen in The Move having an argument with Chief.
Carter was voiced by Hesham Elshazly, who has since started doing paid-only roles. I am looking for someone who can get sort of a voice similar to Carter's voice from Halo: Reach rather than a spot on impression of Hesham's take: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gf5U56MfOCI
I'm not gonna lie to you, Lieutenant, you're stepping into some shoes the rest of the squad would rather leave unfilled. Me, I'm just happy to have Noble back up to full strength. Just one thing: I've seen your file, even the parts the ONI censors didn't want me to. Glad to have your skillset, but we're a team. That lone wolf stuff stays behind, clear?
Lieutenant. I'm Carter, Noble Team's leader. That's Kat, Noble 2. Emile and Jorge, 4 and 5. You're riding with me, Noble 6.
We've been engaged!
RECAST
Jun is just chill, he doesn’t really seem like he cares if he’s in danger or not. He is also the marksman of Noble Team, and keeps the members in check. He only appears a few times in the Next Gen movie, last being seen when Noble Team is fighting Deadshot. Aside from that, he usually keeps to himself and remains hidden until needed.
Jun was voiced by Hesham Elshazly who has since stopped doing unpaid voicework. I am looking for someone who can do a good impression of Jun's voice from Halo Reach rather than an impression of Hesham's take on the character: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AhKUdGSwX5o
Here. You may need these. High-velocity, armor-piercing. They'll take the hat off an Elite at two thousand yards. And they ain't cheap.
Incoming. Looks like we really pissed them off.
RECAST
Noble 6 is the all-around member of Noble Team. You want something done, he can do it; although, he tends to be kind of a lone wolf from time to time. In the Next Gen movie, he appears a few times when Devastator attacks and when Ultron takes control of the Didact.
Noble 6 was voiced by Dylan Walsh in the Next Gen movie, who has stopped doing voice acting. He had a british voice, but I'm looking for someone who can get that sorta voice that Noble 6 had in Halo Reach. Sorta generic male or female. Characters have the ability to change voices, so it's not really too far of a reach, pun intended.
Negative. I have the gun. Good luck, sir.
Hey, guys? Do you hear something?
RECAST
Emile is the tough takes-no-shit guy of Noble Team, as his source material is. He’s an avid fighter and specializes in close quarters combat. He is the first of Noble Team to appear in the Next Gen movie, incidentally releasing Ultron alongside Iron Man and Cortana. He is last seen with the rest of Noble Team fighting Ultron in his Didact form.
Emile was voiced by Pablo Olortegui in Next Gen, who has since seemingly stopped voice acting. I am looking for someone who can do a decent impression of Emile from Halo Reach rather than recreating Pablo's take on the character: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z0z0-frYF24
I'm ready! How 'bout you?!
Cheer up, big man. This whole valley just turned into a free-fire zone.
You and me are a lot alike, I like blowing stuff up, you like standing around with your thumb up your ass!
NEW ROLE
Onslaught is the self-proclaimed master tactician and leader of the Decepticon team known as the Combaticons. He sees himself as the perfect tactician, always considering his plans to be brilliant. But what he really has is just a huge ego. But can he back either of those up with his actions?
For Onslaught's voice, I'm not necessarily looking for any impression (though that would help). Rather I'm looking for someone who can get down Onslaught's overzealous attitude and confidence. Onslaught will likely be playing more of a role in Season 2 of Next Gen along with the other Combaticons.

Vortex, bring our tailing Autobot to a standstill!
I think you forgot the part where we don’t answer to you or your bronze plated friend!
Combaticons, combine into Bruticus!
NEW ROLE
Brawl is a barrel of aggression and violence, often loudly announcing himself when he enters the battlefield. He's something of a demolition expert for the Combaticons. Not because he's good with explosives, mind you, he's just got that much of a destructive personality. This makes his comrades wary, but he's a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield... as long as stealth and zero-casualties aren't required. He and the other Combaticons can combine to perform Bruticus.
For Brawl, I am looking for someone who can get that really aggressive and violent attitude that Brawl is known for. Brawl will likely be playing more of a role in Season 2 of Next Gen along with the other Combaticons.

I like blasting stuff!
As long as I get to blast these chumps, I’m happy!
How about we gang up on you instead?!
NEW ROLE
Swindle is pretty much what his name suggests: a hustler. A capitalist first, and a Decepticon second. Unlike the other Combaticons, Swindle sees opportunity in playing both sides for his own gain, and is typically a weaselly and opportunistic sneak who would betray his comrades without a second thought. He and the other Combaticons can merge to form Bruticus.
Swindle should be a fun one to audition for, as he can speak like a salesperson and has a lot of personality, likely even more than his comrades to the point it is kind of comical. Swindle will likely be playing more of a role in Season 2 of Next Gen along with the other Combaticons.
For inspiration:
Onslaught, remind me why we’re doing this? I’m all for conning these idiots, but they’ll outnumber us and toss us in the attic!
Shockwave? (Chuckles) Come on ET, listen to the con-man here for a second. That chump is playing you like a fiddle. Second he’s given a better deal, he’ll sweep you under the rug!
So you think you can just gang up on us?
NEW ROLE
Vortex is the interrogator of the Combaticons, and is likely the most sadistic out of all of them. He has no remorse for anyone's life, and finds that bringing someone to the verge of death in the most insane way possible is his way of fun. He and the other Combaticons can merge to form Bruticus.
For Vortex, I'm looking for someone who can get that psychotic personality he has. Not necessarily an impression from G1, but something along the tone of Dark Knight's Joker or Carnage from Spider-Man. Vortex will likely be playing more of a role in Season 2 of Next Gen along with the other Combaticons.
For inspiration:
Hold onto your hats, it's gonna get a little windy!
Like hell we are! We ain't goin' into the attic!
You ain't gettin' nothin' outta me!
NEW ROLE
If anyone is a narcissist, it's the Combaticon known as Blast Off. It's nothing really personal, Blast Off just sees himself as better than everyone, and often hates the notion of debasing himself to working with lesser beings. It's also entirely possible that he is gay. Blast Off and the other Combaticons can merge into Bruticus.
For Blast Off's voice, I'm looking for someone who can give off that narcissistic personality that he has. The sort of "holier than thou" attitude. Blast Off will likely be playing more of a role in Season 2 of Next Gen along with the other Combaticons.
Inspiration:
My ionic blaster is much more sophisticated than any of your crude weapons!
You aren’t in the position to make demands here, clone.
Easy! I just polished my chassis!
NEW ROLE
When the Combaticons are in a tight spot, or if they just want to cause massive devastation, they will merge into the titanic combiner known as Bruticus! Bruticus is leagues more powerful than Devastator, and only marginally smarter. But that doesn't necessarily make him smart. Not that he needs to be, as he is mostly built for destruction and carnage.
For Bruticus, I'm looking for a deep and brutish sounding voice similar to his G1 incarnation. It doesn't have to be exact, but something along those lines. He also speaks more slowly than the other Transformers due to him having to process what all of the Combaticons want to say and do at the same time. Bruticus will likely be playing more of a role in Season 2 of Next Gen along with the other Combaticons.
For Inspiration:
YOU MAKE BRUTICUS ANGRY! BRUTICUS DEVASTATE DEVASTATOR!
BRUTICUS OUTNUMBERED! BUT BRUTICUS WILL WIN!
(After Swindle says "Some refer to us as Combaticons, but...") ...I AM ALSO KNOWN AS BRUTICUS!
