Project Overview
Ao Oni: The Dark Mansion is a 60-minute independent horror short film inspired by the cult Japanese RPG game Ao Oni.
The story follows four high school students who enter an abandoned mansion on the edge of town, a place surrounded by dark legends and rumors. Inside, they discover locked rooms, strange symbols, and an unseen presence lurking in the shadows. What begins as curiosity quickly turns into a fight for survival.
Characters
• Hiroshi – intelligent and introverted, the thinker of the group.
• Takeshi – nervous and cowardly, often panics and creates tension.
• Aki – energetic and curious, documents the events with her video camera.
• Yui – calm, kind, and empathetic, the emotional anchor of the group.
Each character brings a unique dynamic, and together they face the terror of the mansion and the legend of the blue demon.

Hiroshi is the main protagonist and the only survivor. Intelligent, introverted, and serious, he quickly becomes the natural leader of the group despite his initial shyness. He is resourceful and brave, even when terrified.

• Must be able to perform in English

Takeshi is the nervous and cowardly member of the group. He panics easily, hides, and often creates more problems with his fear. His role brings both tension and slight comic relief, but his fate is tragic as he becomes one of the first victims.

• Must be able to perform in English
• Ability to portray extreme fear convincingly
