Annie Ant and Cupid Lovebug in Movietime Madness
Project Overview
Movietime Madness is a digitally animated film in the style of old rubberhose cartoons. The film follows Annie Ant, the coffee girl on a movie set, as she goes about her typical day - except this time, the events go haywire due to an unexpected visitor.
Actors will be expected to have crisp, clean audio so when I go back to edit the sound - it won't end up sounding terrible in the final product.
Since this is a high-school project, I can not pay, so this will be another volunteer project.
Be advised that the finished film is going to be submitted to a film competition in Richmond in April.

After deliberation, my co-director and I decided it'd be best to look for someone to compose Cupid's song!
Annie Ant is a shy coffee girl working on the movie set of a big production company. Most of the time, she's rarely given a piece of mind, so she's used to being looked over - though it bothers her still. She has a huge crush on the main actress in the film, Cupid Lovebug, but has never had the courage to speak more then three words to her.
Annie should be played as an androdgynous sounding character, as her design specifically aims to make her look as gender neutral as possible.
[Nervous] She's in there, Ms. Director. Make-up crew isn't done with her.
[Enamored] Coffee, Ms. Lovebug?
Ad-Lib! If you want!
Cupid Lovebug is a big time actress from the city, and currently is working with Ms. Director on her newest film. She is constantly being pampered and praised, but despite this, she remains a very caring figure - even if that isn't apparent from a glance.
Cupid should be played in a high soprano range, with a voice similar to that of Betty Boop or Dora Standpipe (The Dover Boys)
[Cheeky] You know, it's rude to not let a lady know the name of her savior.
[Flirty] Oh, you know I am, honey~
Practicing yelling Help Me! Or Save Me!
Gracie is a star and she knows it. She's constantly eating up attention in every shot she's in, off and on stage. She's flirty by nature and is Annie's main rival for the hand of Cupid. Despite her confidence on stage, she's a coward when the going gets tough.
She should be played like a total player.
[Performative] The star has arrived~!!
[Flirty] Hey, you ready for the shoot today, sugar?
Ad Lib! If you want!
Ms. Director is a rude, butt-kissing jerk who yells at everyone and only acts nice to Cupid to rake the profits of her stardom.
She should be played with two modes, one where she is bossy and loud and one where she's over complimentory and overly sweet sounding.
[Yelling/Projecting] IS CUPID READY YET?
[Butt Kissing] Oh, Cupid, my star! My angel! How are you feeling? You look thirsty, are you thirsty? DRINK FOR MS. LOVEBUG!
Ad Lib! If you want!
Stag Beetle is a big, brutish criminal who is enamored with Cupid and wants her to be his wife - which she doesn't want to be.
He is played with a deep, semi growly voice.
What a pretty voice, I must marry the woman it comes from!
Oh wife, I love you so much!
Ad Lib! If you want! Please sample a big, brutish laugh!
We are looking for someone versed in Ragtime and Swing music to create a melody for Cupid's number in the short. Must be able to write music to provide to Cupid's actress!
