Animorphs Audiobook Project Mains and Artists Call
Project Overview
A fan-made audiobook project for K. A. Applegate’s Animorphs series!
I was previously cast in a project like this on CastingCall.Club, but sadly the director left the platform, so I’ve decided to try it myself, since I love the series and really want to see a fandub/fan-made audiobook for the series.
To apply/audition for all of these roles (with the exception of the Character Designer) will be recurring and will need to be invested in the series. Will be contacted through Discord (https://discord.gg/9mEG3WRGrG) or email (or both) for updates with the series. You can audition both on here or on the Discord!
More auditions will be published when more roles need to be filled!

The main character and first narrates The Invasion. He’s the leader of the Animorphs because he’s responsible and a natural leader, not because he wanted to be. He should sound in his mid-teens and will have many lines throughout the books. He’s best friends with Marco, Rachel is his cousin, and he kind of likes Cassie.

My name is Jake. That’s my first name, obviously. I can’t tell you my last name. It would be too dangerous. The Controllers are everywhere. Everywhere. And if they knew my full name, they could find me and my friends, and then … well, let’s just say I don’t want them to find me. What they do to people who resist them is too horrible to think about.
I won’t even tell you where I live. You’ll just have to trust me that it is a real place, a real town. It may even be your town.
I’m writing this all down so that more people will learn the truth. Maybe then, somehow, the human race can survive until the Andalites return and rescue us, as they promised they would.
Maybe.
An almost valley-girl kind of enthusiasm and accent would be nice for this role but not necessary.
She’s a member of the Animorphs and first narrates the second book. She’s Jake’s cousin and Cassie’s best friend, Rachel is a born-warrior trapped inside a preppy teenage girl’s body. She should sound in her mid-teens and be able to sound shallow at times, but otherwise can be deadly serious, smart, and enraged.

My name is Rachel. I won’t tell you my last name. None of us will ever tell you our last names. Whenever I do use a last name, it’s a fake. Sorry, but that’s the way it has to be. And we won’t tell you the name of our town, or our school, or even what state we are in. If I told you my last name, the Yeerks would be able to find my friends and me. And if they ever find us, it will be the end.

Yes, there really is something worse than death. I’ve seen it. I’ve heard the cries of despair from those doomed to be slaves of the Yeerks. I’ve watched as the evil gray slugs writhe and squeeze in through the ear and take over what was a free human being.
The sort of odd-one-out from the Animorphs, Tobias has had a troubled past. He narrates the third book and is a main character. He’s sort-of friends with Jake after Jake stood up for him, and he kind of likes Rachel.

I want to tell you everything, but I can’t give any clues to my true identity. Or the identity of the others. Everything I will tell you is true. I know it’s going to seem unbelievable, but believe it anyway.
I am Tobias. I’m a normal kid, I guess. Or used to be. I used to do okay in school. Not great, but not bad, either. Just okay.
Anyone is able to audition for Cassie, but since she is a POC, it’d be great if any black, African, or African-American could play her.
She’s the peacemaker of the Animorphs and first narrates the fourth book. She’s Rachel’s opposite and best friend, kind of likes Jake, and is a kind girl with access to a large amount of wild and exotic zoo animals.

My name is Cassie.
I can’t tell you my last name. I wish I could. But I can’t even tell you what town I live in or what state. We have to disguise our identities, we Animorphs. It’s not about being shy. It’s about staying alive.
If the Yeerks ever learn who we are, we’ll be done for. If they don’t kill us outright, they’ll make us Controllers. They’ll force a Yeerk slug into our brains, where it will take control of us, making us slaves- tools of the Yeerk invasion of Earth.
And I don’t like the idea of being under the control of an alien. I don’t like the idea of being dead either.
Auditions are open to anyone, but Marco is half-Latino in the books, so it’d be great if I could get a voice-actor that matches that. He can have a North American accent or a Hispanic accent.
A sarcastic, amusing teenage boy who enjoys poking fun at Rachel. He gives lots of nicknames and is a wannabe ladies man, but actually has a tragic past and self-confidence issues. He’s best friends with Jake, and through the first couple books, doesn’t have a good reason for fighting for Earth until the first book he narrates, The Predators.

I can’t tell you my last name or where I live. Believe me, I wish I could. I would like nothing more than to be able to tell you my name is Marco Jones or Williams or Vasquez or Brown or Anderson or McCain.
Marco McCain. Has kind of a nice sound, doesn’t it?
But McCain’s not my last name. I’m not even going to swear to you that Marco is my first name. See, I’m hoping to live a little while longer. I’m not going to make it any easier for the Yeerks to find me.
I live in a paranoid world. But just because I’m paranoid doesn’t mean I don’t have enemies.
I have real enemies. Enemies that would freeze your blood if you only knew.
This project will have illustrations for every chapter- one for each. I need character designers who can draw humans and/or animals (horses, cats, tigers, etc.) that the artists can use to create the illustrations.
Leave an example of art/characters designed by you for the audition (this can be an Instagram/DeviantArt/Toyhouse or other form of social media)
Having Discord is preferred, but otherwise just make sure you have an email you’re comfortable giving to me.

This project will have illustrations for every chapter- one for each. You will draw humans and/or animals (horses, cats, tigers, etc.) in scenes from every chapter which will include action scenes, emotional scenes, and blood.
Leave an example of art for the audition (this can be an Instagram/DeviantArt/Toyhouse or other form of social media)

Say something you think would fit
This project will have illustrations for every chapter- one for each. You will help draw a scene from every chapter which will include scenes outside, at various times in the day, houses, suburbs, scenes from the POV of animals/very low on the ground and alien places.
