Angel Densetsu (Angel Legend) Comic FanDub Act 1
Project Overview
Hello everyone! I’m Cryshulvo, and I will be making a fan-dubbing of the comic Angel Densetsu by Norihiro Yagi, the creator, artist, and writer of the acclaimed adventure, dark fantasy, Claymore series. Before Claymore, Norihiro Yagi wrote a hilarious comedy manga for Monthly Shounen Jump from 1992-2000 that lasted for 15 volumes! If you’ve never heard of it, I highly suggest you check it out. When I first read it I was laughing for hours into the night because of how cleverly hilarious this manga was. I just couldn’t put it down!
As of right now only Chapter 1 is ready to be recorded and edited, although the script for the entire Volume is ready. I will be posting it by Chapter to add new characters as they come along. I’m also hoping to find a video editor after the first chapter since my video editing skills are nothing special.
A professional microphone is not required, but clean audio with little to no background noise is preferred.
This will be an unpaid but extremely fun and flexible project.
WARNING: This manga does contain references to drugs and guns as well as violence and swearing, so please be aware before auditioning. Not all characters swear, but the ones that do do it more than once. You can kinda tell which characters these are just by reading their descriptions.
Have fun in your audition. There are many minor characters who pop up in each chapter that don’t have names so there are a lot of opportunities and chances for various types of voices. You are allowed to audition for as many roles as you wish.
Discord not required, but recommended.
Voice Actor
The story-teller throughout the manga. Not looking for anything specific in terms of voice pitch.
At the end of this dreamless, hopeless, inhospitable century… There was a boy who possessed a serenely honest and simple heart…
The dread the class felt toward him turned to unshakeable despair.
The Guardian group, having been totally suppressed by Kitano-kun, now bent themselves to his will. And because of that fact, the Guardian group was effectively disbanded… The teachers were overjoyed… But that meant that Kitano-kun would not make any friends in class…
Voice Actor
An old country farmer, appears only in the first chapter, who is seen carrying heavy bags. Ideally looking for an old country accent voice, but other interpretations are welcome.
[Walking in the heat] Whew… Whew… Ah, what a hardship. Used to be, a young’un would come by to help a person, but…
[Struggling to carry bags] Hahh!Hahh!Hahh!
Ohhh… Thank you so much. You’re so kind for a young… [surprised grunt] (sees Kitano-kun’s scary face) D-Don’t think you can fool me just ‘cause I came from the country, you punk!
Voice Actor
The main character with the most honest and kindest of hearts, but unfortunately has the face of a devil. He has inhuman speed and reflexes, but he doesn’t even realize it. He is oblivious to what is truly going on around him and misreads the situation. At times he can become crazy or psychotic, but it’s just his way of expressing his feelings. He always works hard at everything he does, and is the perfect student. However, everything he says and does is taken the wrong way by everyone because of his terrifying looks.
His voice should be very serene and gentle, but sometimes he screams like a madman. Also, there are times when he will need to sound sinister and like evil incarnate.
It’s okay… I’m used to it… It’s always like that. [beginning to cry] I want to get along with everyone, but they always run away…
[Stretching] Hnnnnnnn. [optimistic and cheerful] I got through another day safely. [Innocently] Grass, trees, flowers, and soil, thank you all. It’s thanks to you that I am so blissful.
(When he becomes crazy and can only scream and yell)
KIE KIE~ KIEEE! WAAH! (pronounced like “key” “eh”)
HGYAAAAHH!!! WAAAAH~!!! GYAAAAAHHHHH!!
Guhoho! Guhohohohohahaha! That was a very funny joke. You are a very fun person… Sensei.
Voice Actor
A young girl who appears at the beginning. She only has 1 line.
Mama, that person is scary.

The mother of the young girl. She also only has 1 line.
[Embarrassed and scared at the same time] Shhh, don’t look at him!

The only teacher at Hekikuu High who doesn’t think Kitano-kun is a bad kid, but is a kind person… even if he has a scary face. He’s very logical and mature.
Kitano Seiichirou… is he really that excellent of a transfer student?
[Shocked and scared]: W-wahhh! Who are you?!
[Aside] You can see he has the face of a villain easily enough without 50 years of human experience!
[Slightly nervous] Ex-Excuse me, but… if you’ve got some form of identification, I would certainly like to see it…
Voice Actor
Hekikuu High’s principal who is afraid of Kitano-kun. From the beginning he doesn’t trust or like Kitano-kun. He is constantly trying to get Kitano-kun expelled from his wonderful school in later chapters. His emotions are all over the place. Rarely does he have a normal speaking line, so a lot of yelling/screaming is required. He’s also a little out of his right mind.
[Angry and stern] Don’t you know this is a principal’s office you ruffian?!
LOOK! The type of heinous thug who rents CDs!!
NRRGGGGGHH! I cannot believe something could change a person so…

There are various students at the school that have a few one liners throughout each chapter. I will message people about this role as in later chapters you could also voice one of the Hoodlums if you would like. Some of these characters swear and others don't.
[In disbelief] He must have a lot of confidence in himself if he can tell everyone he’s timid and shy…
I guess “friendly” means “Disobedience will not be tolerated.”...

An upbeat, friendly, likeable teacher that only appears in Chapter 1. At first he’s oblivious to why the mood in his classroom is so gloomy, but after he finds out who Kitano-kun is he makes the situation worse by trying to be funny. He’s the young, cool teacher that everyone likes. You don't have to read all the lines for your audition, but give me enough of the character in your reading so I can get a sense of your interpretation.
Hi everyone! First period is Japanese!! Let’s have fun today, [shocked] Eh?! I’m supposed to be a popular teacher because of my fun and cheerful attitude… Oh well. I’ll just bring them in with my conversation skills, like always. Oh, that’s right, we’re supposed to have a new transfer student today. I wonder where he is?
[Petrifyingly scared scream]
Wh-Who is this?! Shiraishi-sensei said he was supposed to be a model student, but… He has no eyebrows… He looks like a heinous thug. [gaining confidence back] B-But I will not falter. Getting along with thugs using my fun sense of humor is my specialty.
Okay, Kitano Seiichirou eh…? What a great name. [Making a pun] Where are you from Kitano-kun? Ahahaha! WAHAHAHAHAHA!
[Pleading for his life] WAAAHHH! I-I’m sorry! PLEASE FORGIVE ME! I didn’t mean anything by it, I just wanted to calm everyone down! [Hysterical] PLEASE! DON’T KILL ME!!
Voice Actor
The self-proclaimed “Guardian” (leader of all the school punks) of Hekikuu High. He’s extremely alpha-male and constantly yelling. He’s tough, but actually has a soft side. Also, he’s somewhat of an idiot, but has so much charisma that his followers think he’s intelligent… sometimes. Overall a very well-rounded and complex character who makes for a lot of the comedy in the manga (along with his 2 follower thugs).
I’m looking for a rough, bully voice. Character contains a lot of swearing. When I read the manga I hear Kuwabara’s voice from Yu Yu Hakusho, but definitely open to interpretation.
He’s messing with me. *Sound of spitting out cigarette* Does he think he can barge in without introducin’ himself?! All right! I, Kuroda Seikichi, will go talk to this First-year punk myself!
Did you see that Bastard’s eyes? They ain’t ordinary eyes. I’ve got experience with fights, so’s I can tell if he’s strong or weak just by sizing him up. An’ he’s definitely strong. The type of evil fucker that lives for the fight.
[Afraid] Grrrr~ SHIT! Why’s this gotta happen when I’m takin’ a smoke?! [Shocked] WAHHH!
[Optional grunts, yells, fighting sounds (or more like getting beat up sounds)]

Kuroda’s henchman with puffy hair who follows him to the death. Not too bright, but brighter than Kuroda, sometimes. Any type of punk voice that can yell is good. These two goons have quite a bit of lines throughout the entirety of the manga, and they also have some of the funniest lines, so good acting required.
Err, Kuroda-san, that’s not him…
Yeah, I was scared too. It felt like there was an electric current running down my back.
[Scared] Yikes! W-What should we do? B-But he’s a heroin addict. Can you really fight someone like that Kuroda-san?!

When you say Ki (pronounced like the word "key"), do you mean like in Fist of the North Star and Dragon Ball, like Nishino-san… Are you saying he’s as strong as that?
