Project Description:
“And They Were Roommates” Is a rom-com visual novel adventure that follows our MC and their adventures in a new city.
The concept is exactly as it sounds, but there's more to this love story than goofy romance. Theodore, our main love interest, has a dark past and fled to the upside of town to escape it. He was tired of looking over his shoulder and he wished to start anew. Only, you can’t run from the past without learning to accept it, and he is about to learn this the hard way.
It just so happens that the MC gets caught in the crossfire.
This town and its residents are about to feel the wrath of organized crime. Can you support your cozy love story in the midst?

Creator Introduction:
Hello everyone! This is my first time introducing voice acting to one of my game concepts, so if you choose to work with me, please bear with me. I’m going to try to keep this project as stress-free and easy going as possible. It’s something of a test, gauging my practical skill while also fostering a community.
That said— This is for fun! And it will take a long time to complete. The finished product is going to be a long time coming because I’m learning as I go. Please please please keep this in mind (and remember that the sooner we can set in place a proper schedule, the sooner it will be done). But, there is never any rush! Things like school and work can get in the way on projects like this and I completely understand.
Just make sure that these things are considered when auditioning. Please do not join the team if you wish to abandon it when things go quiet for a while.

General Rules/Expectations:
I don’t ask for very many things, but the few rules there are are very important.
Be 18+
This game may include mature topics and crude language. I ask that the voice cast reflect the age and maturity of the characters, in this case being of 18 years or older.
Be respectful
Hatred/intolerance will not be accepted when working with me. If you plan to discriminate/demean anyone based on gender, race, or sexuality, you are not welcomed.
List your discord when auditioning.
This project will have both a server and google drive to keep things organized, Please list your discord when auditioning to ensure you will be invited/present.
Have a decent mic and a solid place to record
Be it in a closet, under a blanket, or inside a studio— I just ask that there is limited background noise and reasonable volume.
Be flexible
I am a full time student with other creative endeavors to focus on as well, so this will take a long time. Sometimes timing will need to be flipped around or altered. I ask that you be open minded and flexible in that regard.
More rules may be added as necessary.
You can audition for/receive more than one role. Place your talent wherever you'd most appreciate it!

Theo is your average boy next door. He's gotten wrapped up in some rough things in the past, but he's trying to leave them behind. Moving to this town was the start of that, but history has the tendency to follow him around. Despite this, he is kind and patient in his day-to-day. His attitude is unassuming, but his past is a sensitive topic.
Voice Desc
His voice is upbeat, friendly, and soft. Even when upset, he rarely sounds 'threatening.'

Character Desc
She is the main character's mother, a very loud and outgoing woman. Nearing her older years, she'd like a chance to 'have fun' before she's forced to act her age. Sending the MC out on an adventure was her way of getting the house to herself, but she's not cruel and neglectful. The woman is well off, and set the MC up with a few hook-ups in town.

She has a very strong presence, but she is kind. She sounds like an older woman, between the ages of 45 and 60, and she is giggly.

Margret is the local coffee shop owner, and the unofficial 'grandma' of town. If you need something done, Margret can likely get it done... for a price. Though, she charges fair and square and she cares! But business is slow these days, so she grabs cash where she can. She is good friends with the MC's mother.
Voice Desc
Margret is an elderly woman with a tired attitude. She is a mentor at heart, though, and will drop her irritated persona if called for.

Franx works at Margret's coffee shop and serves as an occasional voice of reason. This role has no specific gender, and this character is a frequently-appearing side character. They are goal driven and reasonable.

Samuel has been an officer in this town for years, and the local youth leave a bad taste in his mouth. Criminal activity in the town is at an all time high, but he's doing his best to avoid alerting anywhere outside of the local area. He takes pride in keeping his sanction in check.

Sammy is a gruff old man, the stress aging him quickly. He has a mature voice.

Samantha is relatively new to the force. Unlike her partner, she takes a very motherly approach to the local youths. Samantha believes guidance is the thing they're lacking, so she wishes to provide it for them. She is younger and easier to talk to than Samuel.

A strong demanding presence, but she means well.

Dylan is an old "friend" of Theo's. He is commonly known for causing problems for him, jealous that he was able to escape the troubled life and leave all his friends behind. The main antagonist of this story.

He is the chief of mischief and his voice depicts that. A young adult with attitude.
