Hello, voice actors!

I'm currently working on an original animated short that I am later looking to publish on youtube, and release into some film festivals. The story is about a young child who talks to a person who is struggling, and they have a discussion on mental health.

Guidelines:

1. Please have a good mic, limit the background noise as much as you can.
2. Gmail is preferred.

    Thank you all so much for auditioning. You all present such diverse and wonderful voices/takes on the characters. I've been having a blast looking through all of your entries. For the past week I've been recovering from a wisdom teeth surgery which has delayed me in my decision process for a bit, but I am looking to get back and make my choice as soon as possible! (Hopefully by this week) Thank you so much for your patience and willingness to participate. It will be tough picking from all these wonderful voices, but I am ecstatic to start this process ASAP and see the characters come to life. Stay safe everyone! Emily

She means well, but she's got a lot to work through within herself. She's a little bit selfish, but she has her moments of compassion. She's just trying her best, and being a single mom with a 5-year-old is hard work!

At one point in the story, there is the boy's mother, having a very important, boring grown-up conversation on her phone in the background. This is 0 and 1.

Authentic, curious, and confident. Sometimes he can be a little mischievous, but regardless, he is too cute for his own good, and It's hard to stay mad at him.

He's going through a rough patch in life right now, not sure where he fits in. He's been fighting for so long, and he's tired.

Objective: I'm looking for his voice to sound as authentic as possible. Not overly emotional. You can feel he is trying to hold it back, yet it shows through anyway. It has a conversational tone to it, more than a lecturing one.

Character age range from 25-35.
Rough sketch. Also, tying up loose ends of design with this one too.

  • I'm confused... about everything

    I don’t even know what’s right or wrong anymore.. - *raw, gentle*

    And with every question I ask, I get a different answer. 

    Each person just as convinced that they are right as the next… 

  • I’m breaking, and no one can fix me.. - *quieter now*

    And it’s, uh..

    *sigh*

    I just…don’t know what I’m living for anymore, y’know? - *Bottled up emotion seeping through*
