Altered Egos - Altered Vintage Cartoon Character Voice Acting Assignment

Project Overview

Hello!  I'm looking for a cartoon voice actor to
provide original audio for a retro cartoon character acting assignment I'll be
producing with my students this fall.

 

We're reworking old
school animated characters, tweaking their personalities, and giving them lines
from contemporary films.  Kind of a "Rocky & Bullwinkle meets Cohen Bros" mash up.

Assignment: I will need somewhere between 15 & 20 unique recordings of altered vintage cartoon characters all from a similar cartoon universe (Rocky & Bullwinkle, underdog, etc.) Each recording will be no longer than 12 seconds.

 

Hand-off - Sept 10: Specific character assignments won't be revealed until the hand-off. At which time, I will provide the following materials for each of the recordings.  

  • An altered-ego "tweaked" biography based on the original character.
  • An audio sample of original character's voice acting.
  • A video clip and transcript of the movie dialogue to be recorded.

 

Deadline - Oct 10: All recordings will be due.

 

Compensation: This
is a creative challenge for voice artists and student animators to get some
unique content on their demo reels. You will also receive downloadable links to
all of the final animated performances and be given full credit on all public
postings.

 

Audition: Basically I'll be choosing from interested parties based on their demo reels.  I am also willing to split the assignments by gender if this plays to
the strengths and interests of the voice artists.

  • Vintage Cartoon Character Update

    Hello! Sorry about the delay on this project as we've been having a little trouble getting all of the moving parts in one place. But judging from the the assignments have come together, I think you'll agree the juggling has been worth it! We've moved the deadline to this coming Wednesday Sept 23rd 10am (contact me if you need some wiggle room). You should have a response by next weekend as to which performances will be moving forward for animation.
