All Speaking Roles Currently Available for Upcoming Islandside Adventures Stories and Episodes 2

Project Overview

Islandside Adventures : An MMD series where Thomas, Casey Jr, Tillie, Tracy, and many other characters and friends, be they human, beast or machine, work together and have all kinds of grand and amazing adventures on and around the island of Transportonia.

These are all the speaking roles currently available for Islandside Adventures (MMD animated), Islandside Adventures : The Audio Series, and The Terror of the Tracks.

Some roles are confirmed for some upcoming episodes and stories involving the three names (all part of the same project being Islandside Adventures), and some are merely planned to appear/speak (although it's not official yet, but likely). It's unknown if the ones that are planned will be swapped out or not, or who else will be available for voicing in the upcoming plans, but who's listed so far are the ones currently open.

A good portion of these characters are also rendered ones and will likely be appearing in special Q/A sessions hosted by Edward (voiced by one of our VAs called Victor Tanzig).

Some engines are part of the main team of engines (The Transportonian Rail Team), and the other roles are merely supporting ones while one of them are more or less minor parts.

Calley

Calley is a small chugger who often serves as Jackman's right-hand engine for the Transportonian Search and Rescue Team. She sometimes serves as a small shunting engine elsewhere when she's not needed at Transportonian Search and Rescue HQ.

While Calley spends most of the day (and sometimes the night) rescuing, she doesn't let it get in the way of spending time with other chuggers and engines. Calley is kind, caring, and always happy to help, though she won't avoid reprimanding other chuggers and engines if they've done something stupid.

While Calley always tries to spread positivity and not shower others with her own problems, Calley can sometimes feel that she has no place on the Transportonian Search and Rescue Team, evident by the fact that everyone else on the team has their own talents; this can lead to Calley trying too hard to impress others. After Calley's lack of confidence in herself led to a major embarrassment to the rescue team, Calley earned the job of a first responder, virtually fixing the problem. In all, Calley is the ray of sunshine on the rescue team and a friend to everyone on Transportonia.

He often helps his old friend Jebediah with the Milk Train, and also takes passengers on the Foxton Branch Line most of the time. Hurricane is a large tank engine. He at one point worked at the steelworks near Bridlington Goods Yard in the UK. But, after it's closure, he alongside his friends Merlin, Theo, Lexi, and Frankie were transferred to work at the Braxterville Steelworks near Braxterville on Transportonia, where his main jobs are either shunting ladle wagons around the steelworks building, taking the molten slag to the dumping zone, helping marshalling trains of steel in the yard to be delivered, usually being taken away by his friends, or delivering steel to the various yards, harbours, and junctions.

Hurricane is a very big tank engine. Although his name sounds like a storm, Hurricane is gentle, level-headed and kind. He is happy to see Thomas and treats him from the start like a new friend. He is however very loyal to Frankie, and follows her lead, trying his best to keep up with her plans and help her realize her schemes. Hurricane turns a bit of a blind eye to the mean side of Frankie, preferring instead to see her as a loyal companion. He is hard-working, easy-going, generally cheery and his kindness cannot help but show through.

Koko is a high-speed electric engine from Chuggington.

Unlike Wilson and Brewster, Koko is completely electric and uses her own power directly from the tracks beneath her. She loves to race others, knowing full well that they don't stand much of a chance against her. Despite having such pride in her speed, Koko still cares about her friends and never takes them for granted.

Even so, Koko still has a lot to learn, as she sometimes feels that getting revenge is her best option; most notably the time she painted Zephie's face with spiders out of anger for her. Despite her faults, Koko is still a chugger that you can count on, and she is proud to call Wilson and Brewster her friends.

Amanda is a small tender engine who often works on The Transportonian Main Line alongside James every now and then on big jobs.

While Amanda was originally built by the workshop on the Furness Railway in the UK, she was relocated to another region to pull goods trains. This was pretty decent, until the second World War. She was rescuing evacuees from a train pulled by a non-sentient engine that broke down. As the last of the refugees boarded her train, an air raid of Nazis planes arrived to destroy and kill everyone at the scene. Amanda did manage to get clear before the planes attacked, destroying the empty coaches as well as the non-sentient engine. She also managed to get her and her train all the way into a tunnel, but the Nazis shot at both ends of the tunnel, trapping all inside. When work crews finally managed to arrive safely to free the train, Amanda was traumatized. While she did save her passengers and got them out of harm's way, the war proved to be too much for her. So, her manager withdrew her from service until she recovered, which took a really long time. About 5 years after the war ended, the Transportonian Railway Board arrived on the railway to see if any engines were available to work on Transportonia. They found Amanda in the back of the sheds, and after giving her a look over, they asked if they'd like to work on Transportonian's main line. She was a little unsure at first, but accepted it in the end, and she was relocated there a week later. Now, she's as happy as any engine can be.

When they first arrived on Transportonia to join the Swanson Fleet however, they were both stuck up snobs who saw themselves as the best engines of the whole fleet. But, after the two engines had gotten into a few sticky situations (each), they learned that being a part of a team is better than going it alone with each other.

Nowadays, they use their strength to help out their fellow engines, no matter if they were either a part of the Swanson or Peterson Fleet. His voice source is freelanced, meaning so long as it’s within the age range and accent, anything goes.

  • Hello there. Need some help?

  • No worries. I’ve got a rail tour to take to Wheelerton, but it won’t be due to leave Anderson City Central for a while. So, I can take your goods for you.

  • I’ve pulled longer trains than this across the UK. So, this lot is an easy haul.

Peter Sam is a narrow gauge saddle tank engine from The Island of Sodor.

Peter Sam, named Stuart in his younger days while being brought up under the instruction of Duke, is extremely enthusiastic, eager and bubbly. He can be occasionally cheeky, but is kind-hearted, well-meaning and good mannered. He can also be somewhat prone to being a little naïve at times and perhaps take things a little too literally. With an infectious attitude and high spirits, Peter Sam is kind and hard-working to a fault and seldom grumbles about late hours and/or extra work. Although these traits can get him into trouble sometimes, he still accepts whatever job he gets and is always nice to the coaches and trucks, unlike Sir Handel.

Despite being friendly with everyone, when the bigger engines, such as Henry, tease him or cause him to misunderstand something, he can get very angry and wish to go crook on them.

One voice source that’d suit him best would be his CGI voice, Steven Kynman, which is a UK accent. Other than that, it’d be freelanced, so long as it’s within the age range.

Proteus is a narrow gauge engine who lives at the Lloyd Slate Quarry Junction sheds up in the hills on the Dunham Hills and Kingsterm Railway. He was believed to have been lost in the Montano Salt Mines after a cave in, but was actually found in an old shed in Blossom Forest. He has a special lamp that other engines believe to be magical, though it’s kinda hard for them to believe.

Proteus is quite a brave and adventurous little engine, who has many stories to tell of all the adventures he had on other railways long ago. Sometimes, his desire to adventure wherever he can ends up getting him into trouble. Despite this, he likes all the engines and residents on the railway line he runs on nowadays.

His voice source is freelance, so long as it’s within the age and accent ranges.

  • Hello! My name is Proteus. I’m quite an adventurous little engine.

  • Hmm. Reminds me of the time when I got stuck on a high ridge up at Whitestone Mountain Quarry back in 1935. Rocks came falling down, trying to knock me over the edge, but I was able to hold firm. Neither I nor my crew got hurt, though my boiler got a little dinged up. Got laid up in the works for nearly a month.

  • I’m always ready for an adventure!

Roja is a small red tender engine who usually takes passengers along The Transportonian Main Line, but will take the odd goods train out on occasion.

Roja is known to be charming and polite to all engines, including her friends Azul, Huey, and Amarillo. She does occasionally like to race, but can get tired if either the finish line is further away than she’d like, or she doesn’t pace herself.

Her voice source is currently unknown, but she should sound like how she does in the episode she appears in (title listed below).

Rosa is a chugger with plenty of experience with her work in San Locomota! While she mainly specializes in construction work, she has experience and knowledge in multiple areas, such as using a map to plan a passenger route with how complicated the rail network back home was or making sure cars carrying loose loads like coal or stone are evenly balanced and unbalanced loads tend to cause problems for the engines pulling them further down the line.

Her voice source is Tiana Camacho.

Sandra is a tank engine who works for the Transportonian Railway Police Department (T.R.P.D. for short).

Sandra is pretty strict, and very rarely smiles about anything. Only thing she actually smiles about is when she helps solve baffling cases and makes successful arrests of those who broke the law, engines or otherwise.

Her voice source is freelanced, meaning so long as it’s within the age range, anything goes.

  • Hmph. I don’t see why we should have to show compassion for those who break the law…..even if it’s for a good cause.

  • I find nothing funny about this.

  • (saying with a cold dark smile) Well, you did the crime……now do the time.

A very fast steam engine originating from France, Sir Reginald is the express engine who pulls an express train from Kronkton City Station and Anderson City Central. He's a little snooty at times, but is far more polite than Spencer and Farnsworth! He's helpful, very quick to the point, and is willing to do freight runs...a job other express engines are known to hate!

His voice source is freelance, so long as it's within the age range.

  • Please clear off Farnsworth! I need to use the platform!

Ted

Ted, formally known as D199 and sometimes nicknamed either "Spamcan" or "Old Reliable", is a rude diesel engine who's a part of Arnold Finbar's personal fleet of engines.

Ted was pompous and rude, and sided with the general belief amongst diesels that steam engines are inferior to diesel power. He is blatantly arrogant, and enjoys bad-mouthing the steam engines. However, he earned the nickname "Spamcan" by a signalman on The Island of Sodor after he failed pulling a train of oil-tankers, and he subsided when the signalman jokingly threatened to cut him up with a tin opener.

Ted thought he was more reliable than the steam engines. However, one day he broke down and quickly lost his nickname "Old Reliable". In fact, everyone was rather pleased when he was sent away from Sodor back to the Other Railway in disgrace.

Over the next several years, everyone kept calling him "Spamcan", which he REALLY hated. So much so, he gave himself a proper name shortly before being bought by Arnold Finbar to work for him, taking both passenger and freight trains up and down the main line, delivering freight from the Eggman Shipping Co., as well as compete for contracts against either the Peterson or Swanson Fleet whenever Diesel 10 or Cerberus (one of the few steam engines he learned to respect) are not available.

His voice is freelanced, so long as it’s within the age range.

  • Nothing ever happens to us. We are reliable.

  • How rude!

  • Spamcan?! I’m-!
