Alex the Umbreon
Project Overview
Summary
Alex the Umbreon is a Pokémon fanfiction with 50-100 chapters, each 500-1000 words.
Plot
Present
In a suburban Pokémon Mystery Dungeon-esque world for the modern day, inhabited by non-Pokémorph Pokémon and no humans, a high school sophomore (and later a secret agent) named Alex deals with the classic love triangle and everyday shenanigans of his life.
Past
During ancient times, there was a war between Pokémon and Drudeons (these fought to a standstill).
Characters
Alex the Umbreon (Titular Main Protagonist)
Alex is kind and helpful, but struggles with self-confidence.
Gloria the Shiny Glaceon (Deuteragonist)
Gloria is friendly and cheerful, but also timid and sarcastic.
Emma the Eevee (Tritagonist)
Emma is Alex's younger sister and cares deeply for his safety.
Team Oblivion (Main Antagonists)
Team Oblivion is an evil organization comprising Shiny Necrozma (carrying Wiki Berry, with Prismatic Laser, Hyper Beam, Giga Impact, and Trick Room), Dusk Mane Necrozma (carrying Ultranecrozium Z, with Confusion, Calm Mind, Iron Defense, and Moonlight), Dawn Wings Necrozma (carrying Leftovers, with Moongeist Beam, Toxic, Rest, and Sleep Talk), Stakataka (carrying Normalium Z, with Round, Flash Cannon, Trick Room, and Hidden Power Ice), Blacephalon (carrying Leftovers, with Pain Split, Calm Mind, Shadow Ball, and Will-O-Wisp), Poipole (carrying Eviolite, with Venom Drench, Toxic, Rest, and Sleep Talk), and Naganadel (carrying Assault Vest, with Fell Stinger, Throat Chop, Dragon Claw, and Gunk Shot) led by Necrozma (carrying Scope Lens, with Psycho Cut, Autotomize, X-Scissor, and Earthquake) and Eternatus (carrying Liechi Berry, with Dragon Dance, Assurance, Dragon Tail, and Cross Poison) whose plans are to conquer the Pokémon universe while served by non-Pokémon robots resembling the Separatist Droid Army from Star Wars and benefacted by the Drudeons and Drudeverse Emperor, non-Pokémon creatures resembling Sylveon, but with black scales, purple eyes, prehensile draconic wings, and long propellant-tipped tails, wearing silver armor, and using wings to wield glowing axes and energy rifles, entities coming from another dimension, a hostile species of beings, and as powerful as Arceus.
Requirements
You must be familiar with the Pokémon franchise and write in American English.
Notes
The whole thing will have a high school expulsion beginning, a second high school midpoint, and a bittersweet yet happy ending.
The age rating will be for teens and young adults.
The total length may change.
Pokémon still have their moves and abilities while also using tools and vehicles.
Alex, who has a Rotom Dex living in his backpack while possessing Aaron from MyStreet as a voice headcanon, enjoys coffee, sleeping, and video games.
Gloria, who has a blue scarf, purple ribbon, and a crush on Alex while possessing Beatrice from Over the Garden Wall as a voice headcanon, loves anime, video games, internet blogging, cellphone texting, and being nice to everyone.
Emma, who has a bowtie in her ears while possessing Mallow from the Pokémon anime as a voice headcanon, used to prank Alex as a young child and eventually grew out of it, only to develop a sisterly bond with Gloria.
Team Oblivion, which will collaborate with and/or compete against other more lighthearted villains while possessing antagonists from Ben 10 as voice headcanons, will have a high kill count, a willingness to commit murder, no comedic moments, and zero interest in redemption.
Love triangle—Who is the third person in the classic love triangle with Alex and Gloria? (Another student? A rival? Someone from the old town? A new character we introduce early in the middle?) I actually thought of five: Aya, the Alolan Ninetales, who is an innocent scapegoat possessing a crush on Alex and is reluctantly part of a female bully group led by Lizzie the Liepard, Henry, a Houndoom bully who harasses Gloria to go out with him, and is the leader of a Flygon and Ariados, Lizzie, who is a tsundere tomboy harassing Gloria since the two girls broke up from dating while trying to steal Alex from her, Ronald, a computer nerdy homosexual Raichu who possesses a crush on Alex and a Lucario named Lucas while hanging out with both of them and a Mr. Mime called Jack, and Lucas, a bisexual Lucario, who has a younger sister consisting of a Riolu, hates Henry and possesses a crush on Alex while unaware of his middle school friend Ronald having a crush on him.
Name & personality of mother—The widowed Espeon mother has not been named. Any preferences? Perhaps Pearl, as a result of her maybe wearing a pearl necklace (though not all Pokémon wear accessories in this, and yes, clothes do exist but are usually only worn for work or special occasions, though accessories are worn everywhere informally if an individual feels like it)? I plan for her to be caring and loving while protective in a non-overbearing way, though, as I said before, supporting characters that I have not thought of yet are yours to create.
The artifact—Any specific details or powers you want for the Drudeon artifact that Gloria ends up carrying the scent of? It is one of the Infinity Boxes, three sentient supercomputers the Drudeons tried to use to terraform the planets of the Pokémon universe before they were stolen by Earth Pokémon, who used their power to force the Drudeons to retreat, prompting the Pokémon to hide the Boxes in various parts of their world.
Secret agent path of Alex—When and how does that start? (Right after the prom rescue, or later?) It happens sometime later in the middle.
Pacing/chapter focus—Do you want the first few chapters to be very slice-of-life heavy, or mix in early hints of Team Oblivion? I think both will work, but I want Team Oblivion to have enough screen time to establish them as the main antagonists to the reader while also keeping it to a minimum to avoid making them boring. Perhaps they use the corpse of the currently missing older sister of Gloria, Sally the regular Sylveon (yes, Pokémon have surnames as well that are not always related to their species), and infuse it with dark energy to turn her into a puppet with stronger abilities, like earth-splitting and teleportation, while using Sally as a proxy to lead their robots until her defeat, to which Team Oblivion decides to finish the job themselves? If you are wondering, Gloria and Sally, the latter of whom wears a blue basecall cap, were extremely close when the former was a young Eevee child and cried when she and her sister would stay up late and go past their bedtime watching horror movies, which Sally would watch bravely and comfort Gloria if she got scared, all without her parents comprising a strict mother, who is the mayor of the town Alex moves to in the middle, and a loving father, who is currently bedridden, knowing. They would also hang out at the local graveyard with Alex when he was a young Eevee, only to forget about each other when the latter moved away. However, Alex and Gloria do not recognize each other there at first in high school. However, shortly after Alex moved away, Gloria, as a young Eevee, witnessed her older sister disappear during a snowstorm while Sally yelled for her to stay inside. The Sylveon was then grabbed by an unknown figure and vanished, leaving Gloria with a phobia of heavy snow. The next day, while her parents were talking to the police about the incident involving Sally, Gloria, still an Eevee, overheard this and ran off to her room to cry, only to be comforted by her at the time not bedridden father, who asks Gloria if she has having difficulty sleeping, to which the little girl hugs her father and begs him never to leave, ending this flashback sequence on a cliffhanger.
Anything else—Tone tweaks, specific scenes you want included early, supporting characters to introduce in the new town/high school, etc.? I thought of you adding at least one one-shot villain who, unlike the others but similar to Team Oblivion, is dark and serious; the only difference from Team Oblivion is that this solitary baddie is affiliated with no one else, a loner, and pure evil. Maybe a baddie inspired by Camerupt from The Lost Child? Furthermore, I thought of the reason why Aya, who also has an Alolan Vulpix little sister at home, puts up with Lizzie and her gang is that they are blackmailing the Ninetales to do as they say in exchange for them not telling the authorities about Aya being presumably responsible for her friend she had during 9th grade, Megan the Mimikyu, committing suicide, which was accidental, and Aya has felt guilty about it ever since. Basically, Aya, as an Alolan Vulpix, met Megan in middle school, and they have been best friends ever since. However, after meeting and hanging out with the gang, Megan had had enough during a prom that year and physically lashed out at Lizzie before leaving. When Aya chased after Megan to ask why she did that, Megan angrily revealed the manipulative nature of Lizzie, which Aya, believing Megan was insulting their friend out of frustration, slapped her best friend across the face before feeling - but sadly, Megan already ran away, to which Aya gave chase out of sorrow, only to discover, to her horror, the Pikachu disguise of Megan at the bottom of a cliff, which Lizzie and her second-in-command Penny the Purugly used this to frame Aya for causing the Mimikyu to do suicidal behavior due to her slapping her and force her to do the bidding, who, realizing the real bad side of Lizzie too late, had no choice but to accept. (Little did they know Megan actually got abducted by Team Oblivion, who used her body as the initial prototype for the experiment they later used on Sally in the prologue. However, they quickly disposed of her when the serum, which was imperfect at the time, turned her hostile and mindless, leading them to toss zombie Megan in the trash and test on other Pokémon until they got it right before the prologue, following countless test subjects)
