Air Crash Investigation - Delta 1080
Project Overview
Delta 1080 took off from San Diego late in the night on April 12th, 1977. Unbeknown to the pilots, a bearing in the elevator, which controls the pitch of the aircraft, had corroded and broken during the taxi. This resulted in the pitch of the plane being uncontrollable after takeoff. The video will delve into how the pilots managed to gain control of the plane and thence land safely at Los Angeles.
