A Mutant's Cowboy Code (Animated Thesis Film/Pilot)
Project Overview
A Mutant's Cowboy Code is a 2D animated thesis film/pilot set in the far distant future. Its a fast paced comedic adventure featuring a satirical sci-fi world and a colorful cast of mutants, aliens, and a (cute) eldritch abomination!
The film follows Belly, an intergalactic vagabond and self-proclaimed cowboy as they go on a mission to save a (seemingly) innocent creature from an unjust trial, dragging their long suffering companion along for the doomed ride.
The film's length is currently 3 minutes long and once completed will be posted to Youtube, Newgrounds, and possibly submitted to film festivals. Make sure this is okay with you before auditioning!

This is a lead role! Belly is the main character and protagonist of the film and drives the narrative. They believe they are an authetic Cowboy and follow their code to a ridiculous degree. They are stupidly optimistic, noble to a fault, but never take anything too serious until it's too late. While Belly likes to emulate their Cowboy idols, they don't have a southern accent. Belly’s voice is androgynous, energetic, loud, and cheerful!

Your honour, the only real crime here is injustice towards this sweet innocent little guy. Look at her; how could she hurt anyone? SHES TINY!
This is the second lead role! Fritz is the long suffering sidekick to Belly who is constantly bailing them out of the many dangerous situations they get themselves into. Fritz puts on a cool front to hide his cowardice but is generally clumsy and dragged around by the whims of his friend. He’s the brains of the operation with his skills in tech and engineering but is usually helplessly putting out fires. His voice is masculine and ranges from annoyed to whiny.

A Galactic Judge is meant to be impartial and entirely logical because of its long lifespan. The Judge evaluates evidence and law and decides punishment accordingly. It's unfeeling, calculated, and effortlessly exudes power over the room. It's also a gigantic jellyfish creature. Its voice is deep and intimidating with an alien cadence.

(Deadpan) “I’ve been informed that you were here last week for grand larceny.”
“Arrest them immediately.”
The guards of the Judge are of the same species of the Judge, but use robotic enhancements to make up for their squishy smaller size. With guns for hands and helmets which obstruct their voices, they speak through a modulator leading them to have a robotic cadence most of the time.

This is the stereotypical corny over-the-top Cowboy from the wild western film that Belly learns the Cowboy Code from. He has an exaggerated southern gentleman accent and a strong sense of justice with a habit of preaching his tenets to anyone who will listen. Belly thinks he's very cool.
