Going through submissions
The roles are now being closed. I will be fully going through and sorting all of the auditions now and will hopefully be reaching out to my chosen VAs within the next 1-2 weeks.

3rd Year Final Film 'Echoes'
Project Overview
'echoes' is a short ~3 minute film set in a dystopian post-apocalyptic setting (think Last of Us meets Still Wakes the Deep meets Chaos Walking visually) centered around Reid who is visiting the gravesite of Vanessa, his mentor and mother figure. As he ventures back home, he sees various unwanted memories and reminders of himself and Vanessa throughout time, but when he comes across the memory of first being found by her, he begins to soften as he walks side by side with it until he reaches their once shared home.
I really like the found family trope, and that naturally extends to a lot of apocalypse media where a guy finds a child and practically adopts them/feels compelled to protect them for whatever reason, so this is my genderbent twist on that but pass all of the training and bonding and at a point where that mentor character is no longer around.
I will be communicating with successful applicants via Discord.
** The attached animatic has no sound but I plan to have an instrumental cut up mix of Sleeping At Last's Saturn and other foley sounds

With just about 24 hours left until submissions close, I just wanted to take the time to give a huge thank you to everyone who has submitted an audition so far!
It means so, so much to me and I truly appreciate every one of you that has taken the time to audition for my project. Hearing the lines read out loud has been very illuminating, and in the meantime I have been working more on making my script sound a little more natural, hahah.

This is Reid's guardian/adoptive mother - she has quite a few miscellaneous speaking lines throughout the film that range from neutral to angry. Ideally I'm looking for something maternal but still strong, perhaps with a bit of a rasp/weathered quality to it, she became his guardian/mother by circumstance and settled into the role.
For now I have no preference regarding accent.

This is the main character of my film.
The adult version doesn't have any speaking roles so I'm just looking for something a bit gruff; heavy breathing ending in an exhale (context being having just woken up from a nightmare), scoffs/snorts (indignation, frustration), exhales.
Originally I was going to make the teen version a separate role, which has speaking lines, but I figure if the adult version only makes misc. sounds then it's just easier to have one actor that can preferably do both. I'm still open to taking on two different VAs however, so if you're only applying for one or the other then please let me know in your submission.
