Jimmy Shank AKA The Harlequin Jack
Jimmy Shank AKA The Harlequin Jack
@theharlequinjackGreetings from "That Guy with the Voice!"
Voice acting wasn't really on Jim's radar, for a while. Voices came naturally for him, especially during playtime. All the cars, planes, guns, movement, actions - those things all got their own soundtracks, courtesy of Jim's innate voice-acting talents.
As he grew up, this audio track extended across characters both good and evil. The need for his overactive mind to provide added entertainment, it was common for entire playtimes to sound like a warzone to the casual observer in the living room. Sorry, mom!
Growing up amidst the rise of the internet, as well as the endless advance of gaming, movies, audiobooks, and podcasts, Jim has spent years growing a long and deep-seated familiarity with character voices, voice-acting legends in the gaming industry, and the specific things that make them both funny and familiar.
Through his own life experiences, Jim began to get more and more comments, compliments, and questions about his voice-acting ability. Does he have a podcast? How about audiobooks? Has he done voicework in video games or movies?
...and the follow-up. "You should!"
Jim's demo is the result of the experiences, the questions, and the road he's traveled to reach this point.
Jim loves to voice-act, no matter where he is. At home, with his friends, online with strangers, even in public or at work. His voices are memorable, and easily recognizable.
For now, a career in the cannabis industry supports his work taking on the voice industry from beautiful Washington State. A perfect place to find peace, and creativity, in equal measure.
Scott Burns is an absolute master at his craft. I spent about eight months, between training and demo work, with Scott on my ascension into the voice acting industry. He is well-spoken, funny, and incredibly knowledgeable about how the industry works, both in modern day, and in the past. It's been a pleasure working with him and hopefully we can do a project together in the professional realm, at some point!
For professional work, all pricing will come from GVAA standard rates.
Private projects or audience-based content creation will be case-by-case.
In general, I am at the beginning of my voice acting career, as of May 2025.
For now, experience over profits, as I'd enjoy learning more about the work and how the industry is evolving.
My ultimate goal, in voice-acting, is to be in gaming, animated movies, or TV shows. Many of my characters fit many varied roles, across these spaces, and I can easily adapt to fit many roles. Check out my demo for an example of my range!
