(Note: I am opposed to the use of generative AI for creative endeavors. By its very nature, AI is theft, and its use devalues the creative effort of real writers and artists for the sake of generating a product that is cheaper, faster, and worse. As such, I will NOT accept roles on projects that were "written" by AI, "drawn" by AI, will be used to train AI, etc.)

Hi! I'm Tess, and I'm a 27-year-old conservatory-trained NYC-based professional actor (as well as a cosplayer, crafter, cat parent, witchy folklore nerd, bookworm, occasional standup comic, and full-time geek) who's looking to build up my voice acting portfolio!
My onstage experience ranges from Shakespeare and Commedia dell'Arte to musicals and contemporary plays. Most recently, I starred in the (Helen Hayes Awards recommended!) world premiere of The H Twins, a darkly comedic new play with music. I've performed at A Red Orchid Theatre in Chicago, MAB Productions in Salt Lake City, the American Theatre of Actors in Manhattan, Outta Bounds Productions in Brooklyn, and many more. I even participated in a pilot for a live-play RPG podcast entitled Author Unknown: An RPG Podcast from The Fabulary, where I battle supernatural monsters as Edgar Allan Poe (listen here: https://thefabulary.podbean.com/).
I've played a wide range of characters in the past, but in terms of "type," I've been told that my vibe is a smart, snarky, sweet, chaotic blend of Natasha Lyonne, Julia Garner, and a hint of Emily Hampshire (Stevie Budd to Schitt's Creek fans). If I were to play a role on Broadway, it would be Monty in Operation Mincemeat.

Graduated cum laude and was awarded special honors on my thesis project (and performance) about standup comedy.
A year-long acting conservatory program in New York, affiliated with Atlantic Theatre Company and NYU. Among classes in technique and scene study, I received a course in Speech and Dialect from professional dialect coach Charley Layton (The Who's Tommy at the Goodman, Ain't Too Proud on Broadway, Kinky Boots national tour, and more). This course taught the fundamental components of learning any dialect and gave me access to a library of resources for nailing the details of specific dialects from all over the world.
Graduated cum laude and was awarded special honors for my BA thesis project on portrayals of the supernatural, folkloric, and occult in modern literature. (I also studied a LOT of Shakespeare. A LOT.)
