Character Description:  Yuma is an energetic boy, who believes in himself and isn’t afraid to take on a challenge, even if he isn’t particularly good at it.  This leads him to getting into trouble with Shark, as he winds up challenging him to a duel, knowing that his own chances are slim.  Despite all this, Yuma is willing to put his own deck on the line to fight for Tetsuo, which causes the Door inside his Pendant to summon him, choosing him to be Astral’s partner.

Voice Description:  Given the fact that he’s still at the middle school age, he will most likely have a higher pitched voice, like he’s in the process of going through puberty.  Yuma is extremely optimistic and naive, so the higher pitched voice works.  If there is a decision for another Zexal fandub again, then the voice actor must be able to keep the same voice but alter it from higher to a bit deeper.  The deepness of his voice signifies his growth, since over the series Yuma does mature, and there are definitely scenes later in the series that we'd love to do with Yuma.

  • Astral has just appeared before Yuma; however, the only person, who can see Astral, is Yuma.  His friends keep asking who he's talking to and thinking that he's lost his mind, which frustrates the boy.

"Wait, you mean you guys can't see this dude right here?  The floating guy?  Right here!  *Becomes more frantic with his attempts to convince his friends.*  He's right HERE!  Can't you see him?!  It's hard to miss him, when he's RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU!  I know you both have eyes, so use them and look a little harder- Oh for crying out loud!"

  • Yuma is on the receiving end of the duel, which prompts Shark to berate the boy, insulting him and mentioning how worthless and dependent on people he is.

"Oh just shut up!  I’m nothing like that, at all!  No matter how many times I fail.  No matter how many times I’m laughed at.  I always brought it to em’, and that will never change!  Because I am who I am, and I’ll keep bringing it to em’!  I haven’t given up yet, Shark, and I never will!"

  • Yuma relies on his last draw, which will decide the outcome of his duel with Shark.  Upon his Draw Phase, Yuma finds hope in the card and makes his final attack.

"I attack with Number 39: Utopia!  Go, Utopia!  Attack Leviathan Dragon!  I then activate Utopia's effect!  By detaching one Overlay Unit, I negate Utopia's attack!"

Shark is baffled about Yuma's sudden strategy and asks if there's a point to a hopeless move.

"There's a point alright!  I'm activating the Quick-Play Spell Card, Double or Nothing, to finish you!  When my monster's attack is negated, this card double's my monster's Attack Points and allows it to attack again!  Let's bring it to em', Utopia!  Attack Leviathan Dragon!"

You have a lot of energy within this audition, and I love that. Some constructive criticism though is to control your breathing. Breathing, I've noticed, can kind of affect the tone of the line's delivery. Overall though, I think you did a nice job!
