Oh, Gus. A spore sprite, Gus's brain is constantly being bombarded by hallucinogenic spores. As a result, he is kind of...dopey. Gus is a lovable oaf, and is very much the comedic relief of the story. That is not to say that he isn't without some emotionally charged moments. For Gus, I am looking for someone who can do a "stoner voice" that doesn't sacrifice real emotion in the delivery. The Gus actor should have excellent comedic timing. I want the audience to love Gus as much as I do.
