VALKYRIA CHRONICLES 4: Squad Stories (NEW EPISODE: "A Chivalrous Heart") - 1F
MarcosMolina for Curtis Blackwell
Male. Late teens. For someone so young, Curtis is quickly rising up the ranks as someone to be counted on in the thick of battle. Many of his comrades praise the young man for his stoicism but, in reality, Curtis is painfully shy; the “perfect soldier” persona is one he puts on to keep people at a distance to prevent his social anxiety from affecting his performance. Difficult to approach at first but when he lets someone into his small social circle, he's a friend for life. Deep in his heart, Curtis is very reserved, mild-mannered and meek... perhaps to a flaw, since it can be construed as a lack of confidence. But when those he loves are put in harm's way, Curtis goes full-on “beast mode” and is willing to give his own life to get them home. God help the man who harms his little sister.
Voice type: medium / medium-high. Aloof, but with an underlying warmth that shows when surrounded by the right company.
Laurent... What should I do? He came all this way to introduce himself, and I just completely blew him off. It's all just a misunderstanding! Just, when people talk to me, my anxiety flares up and... I'm just no good at talking to people. Unless it's you or my sister...
Why didn't you fire? All you had to do was pull the trigger!
I, uh... I dunno about that. I've made my fair share of mistakes. Sometimes it's hard for me to tell right from wrong. You're my best friend. Long as we stick together, I think we can make a difference.
Your audio is very clean, so you've already won half the battle. Don't be afraid to try different emotions and vocal inflections for each line for variety - try to make each of your acting choices distinct so they can really stand out for future auditions. Definitely change up your speed for each for variety, the lines were all delivered with a very similar cadence. Improve on that and your takes will sound so much better. Thanks for trying out! :)
Thank you very much! I'll keep it in mind for the future and strive to get better at it! The feedback I keep seeing from you is very admirable.
I do my best to reply to everyone who requests it, whether in comments or private messages. It's valuable for everyone who wants to become better :)
