James is someone who Clementine meets when she gets kicked out of the school. She finds out he's a whisperer, a group that likes to dress like the dead and wear masks fashioned from the faces of zombies and use the disguise to walk among the herds. He's a nice kind hearted guy who helps AJ with his gunshot wound and helps Clementine by using walkers as a distraction.

  • "Was part of a group. Call themselves Whisperers. They've learned to live in herds, among walkers. Move among them. Sometimes, guide them. They attacked a community. I saw the carnage. Didn't want to be part of it."

    Context: James explains why he's all alone out here.

  • "You don't fucking scare me."

    Context: James says this to Lilly after she finds out that he's a whisperer.

  • "This is... was... my boyfriend, Charlie. We joined the Whisperers. Together. But it changed him. In a way that couldn't be undone. It changed both of us.

    Context: James is trying to convince Clementine to not let AJ kill again by talking about his boyfriend Charlie and how it changed them into terrible people.
