Male.  Late teens.  For someone so young, Curtis is quickly rising up the ranks as someone to be counted on in the thick of battle.  Many of his comrades praise the young man for his stoicism but, in reality, Curtis is painfully shy; the “perfect soldier” persona is one he puts on to keep people at a distance to prevent his social anxiety from affecting his performance.  Difficult to approach at first but when he lets someone into his small social circle, he's a friend for life.  Deep in his heart, Curtis is very reserved, mild-mannered and meek... perhaps to a flaw, since it can be construed as a lack of confidence.  But when those he loves are put in harm's way, Curtis goes full-on “beast mode” and is willing to give his own life to get them home.  God help the man who harms his little sister.

Voice type: medium / medium-high.  Aloof, but with an underlying warmth that shows when surrounded by the right company.

  • Laurent... What should I do? He came all this way to introduce himself, and I just completely blew him off.  It's all just a misunderstanding! Just, when people talk to me, my anxiety flares up and... I'm just no good at talking to people. Unless it's you or my sister...

  • Why didn't you fire? All you had to do was pull the trigger!

  • I, uh... I dunno about that. I've made my fair share of mistakes. Sometimes it's hard for me to tell right from wrong.  You're my best friend. Long as we stick together, I think we can make a difference.

Thanks for the audition. Your audio quality is good so it's clear that you a decent set-up for clean recording. I could definitely sense some underlying emotion in your lines, but each of the three lines sounded the same - varying up your speed, pacing, emphasis, putting in some pauses, etc are acting decisions that will give any future auditions much more variety. Also... I'm not sure if it's due to an accent or a speech impediment, but definitely try to make some of words more clear; there were several places a few words kind of blended into one another. Just something to keep in mind for the future. Again, thanks for trying out! :)
