Male. Early 20s.  Recurring role.  Childhood bully turned friend of Claude Wallace, after his former mark earned his respect with his leadership in basic training.  Once bitter rivals, the two are now inseparable best buddies.  Living for the thrill of combat as the “mad dog” of the squad, Raz is the most fearsome trooper in Squad E's ranks.  Competitive to a fault and an infamous womanizer.  While he isn't a chauvinist, he still lives life by The Three B's – boobs, beer, and bacon.  Crass and vulgar on the surface, there dwells a sense of honor and inner beauty beneath the beast.  A major character in VC4 but plays a minor role in several of the Squad Stories, mainly to bring additional flavor to the conversations.

Voice type: medium/medium-high.  Thrill seeker and simply can't control himself when there is glory to be won.  Though he believes he is God's gift to women, his flirting often results in getting a punch to the face.  Curses on occasion – if this is an issue, let me know with a comment on your audition.

NOTE:  Raz is a recurring character.  If you would like to return as this character, let us know by leaving a comment when submitting your audition.  Casting preference will be those who indicate interest in reprising their roles in future episodes.

  •  Hey, Eileen, you got a sec?  Need a hand over here!

  •  (another episode; wincing in pain, after losing an arm wrestling contest)  Gah!  Damn it, I lost again!  What's your win streak now?!

Glad you decided to take the plunge into the VA game! :) That said, for a second audition ever, you did well - I can sense that there is a performance behind the words, instead of just a simple line reading. You just need to bring it out a bit more but obviously that comes with more practice. Once you build up more confidence and experience auditioning (and practicing on your own), you can definitely book some stuff on here! Very good job!

I appreciate the feedback. I agree that I'll probably get better with time. Thanks for taking the time to listen :)

My pleasure! Even if you aren't cast for your first few auditions, never give up. Audition endlessly and research your craft. If you don't already have it, do make a point to read "Voice Over, Voice Actor" by Yuri Lowenthal and Tara Platt. They just released the updated second edition that goes more into depth about video game work; if you're only able to track down the first edition, it lacks the in-depth chapters on video games and motion capture (but is otherwise identical). Find it on Amazon or even check your local libraries - this book is a MUST OWN for those who want to be serious about the craft.
