Bill Garrison is unsympathetic and cocksure to a fault. He plays hardball when negotiating with customers in an attempt to out-sell his father. It angers him to no end that his old man's "soft" approach is what seems to keep his earnings ahead of his son's.
(A meek customer is asking for a better deal. Bill's tone is smug and factual.) “You can take it elsewhere, but you ain’t gettin’ a better deal than mine.”
(Trying to close a deal. His tone is fake-sweet.) “We greatly appreciate your business, let me take that off your hands.”
(An uninformed customer is insisting on an absurd price. The tone is annoyed.) “If you don’t like it you can walk right out that door. Won’t bother me”
