Sapphire is a Pokémon Trainer and the daughter of Professor Birch. She often assists her father with his fieldwork and years of doing so have given her various skills such as heightened physical strength and senses. Due to constantly being surrounded by nature, she has come to dislike the idea of beautifying Pokémon instead of leaving them in their natural state. After some character development, she has learned to appreciate the idea of beauty.
She conquered every gym in the Hoenn region within 80 days, earning herself the title of "The Conqueror"

Sorry... I shouldn't have said that at a time like this...But if I don't say it now...Ya once told me, yer gonna go back to Johto sooner or later. If ya haven't changed yer mind, you'll probably return ta Johto after this battle... We ain't got a lotta time, so... the thought of never seein' ya again... made m' heart feel like 's breakin' into pieces. I've never felt like this.
