Makoto was born in the Trump Kingdom where her pretty cure powers had descended to her. She became a singer and sung for everyone including the princess. After the Trump Kingdom was taken over by the Selfishness Makoto fled to the human world with her princess in hand. But sadly Marie let go of her as she surrendered herself over to King Selfishness. Ever since then Makoto mostly became a singer to sing as she figured her princess was reincarnated as a human girl who was unaware of her power or lineage. That was not the case as it is shown later on that the princess surrounded herself in ice so her heart may not fall to the selfish. Makoto regrets not protecting her and often cries to herself alone about losing her. Makoto soons warms up to the other girls and joins there team to fight against the Selfishness and save the princess. Later on she finds out Marie was engaged and had a future husband named Joe. She often shows jealousy towards him after finding out this information. But one thing they do have in common is they both regret not protecting the princess up to there last breathes.
