This strikes me as very journalistic, which, while not a bad thing, is not quite the aim. I would expect this intonation from an impartial reporter. Reina, however, is a politician trying to unify her people. Check out some famous/powerful political speeches: eg, Obama's 04 Keynote speech, Regan's 'A Time for Choosing' speech, JFK's inaugural speech, etc. That's the goal.

The protagonist; Princess of Lucis. On the surface, Reina is everything a princess ought to be: refined, educated, and an excellent leader. It is a commonly held belief in the kingdom that she should have been made heir to the throne. At her heart, she loves her family and her kingdom and, like any good sister, enjoys tormenting her twin brother. Underneath, the picture is less cheerful: she has lived her life in her brother’s shadow, believing (and, indeed, seeing) that their father loves him more; she has spent her childhood and adolescence desperately striving to prove herself to her father and find her place in the world, which has led her to give up everything else in her life in pursuit of his attention and love. At the time of this story, she has all but decided that her whole purpose in life is to take care of her king and father as his health fades.
