First Appearance: Chapter 34
Range: Medium Low to Medium High
Dune is basically everyone at Spoon's mom, constantly berating them as well as taking care of them. He becomes Naga's first mentor upon joining Spoon so I want Dune's va to have a sort of intellectual vibe whenever he talks. A majority of the time, Dune is quite sleep deprived so during panels where this shows, he should sound very tired. I also want his voice to get fairly high pitched whenever he freaks out and starts yelling at people. Dune is a chain smoker, so adding an optional crackly smoker voice could really help your performance.
'I've heard that nowadays they put sawdust or wool in punching bags instead of sand... I didn't think I'd be able to check like this...' (Thought/Slightly bewildered/Analyzing) from Chapter 37
"The most basic exercise is avoiding my attack while catching this ball. It's up to you whether you use your powers or not." (Explaining/Laid back/Sleep-deprived)
"We'll try it again... But don't forget that you can use your powers." (Slightly worried/Still laid back)
"Is this your first time practicing this kind of thing?" (Starting to lose patience) from Chapter 49"They just put out the immediate fire... It's natural. Healers should always save their power since there's no telling when and what kind of emergency patient will show up at the hospital. They can't use up all of their power to heal one person." (Weakly/Explaining)
"Sorry..." (Weakly/Slightly embarrassed)
"Naga, I'm fine." (Weakly/Stubborn)"O-...Okay..." (Disappointed/Followed by some light sobbing noises/Comedic)
"H-hey!" (Worried/Followed by a loud grunt because he fell)
"Sorry but... Could I... Go with him too?" (Nervous/Worried) from Chapter 156
I think for the most part, your auditions seem to be missing a sense of energy. While that might work for Dune, since he's typically a very low-energy type of person, more expressive characters like Naga and Guineung need that extra burst of energy to make their lines sound complete. If I put that a character is yelling, then put your all into it without holding back. Try to get into the mindset of the character. Examining the chapter that each line is from is also a good way to get some visual aid and will only help to improve your performance. For Sasa, I'd like to hear if you can naturally make your voice go a bit lower without any pitch effects. If not, then that's cool. I think you might make a good Stell, since I more or less described his voice as a higher pitched Sasa. Out of all your auditions so far, I think your Dune is my favorite. The only thing I'd say to change with him is adding a bit more energy to the last set of lines in the last box because this is him trying to be a bit active, despite being hospitalized. And again, looking at the chapter scene for context will help. B]
Thanks for all the feedback my friend, I'll go ahead and go for it again once I'm out of work tomorrow. It's a little late for me but I wanted to try out all the lines :X It'll be easier to show that energy when it's daylight haha. I can lower my voice a bit so I'll try that a bit out too :>
