Backstory: Dam Bi grew up in South Korea with two other siblings, with her being the only girl. She did not spend much time with either her parents or her siblings due to circumstances, and as she grew older she became interested in fashion and Japanese culture at the same time as her idol curiosity grew stronger. Dam Bi improved her singing skills with lessons and even joined a dance group who needed a member that could design their outfits, but when she attempted to audition for Korean idol groups she was rejected. However, she did not let this get her down, and instead took up learning Japanese and eventually English. Dam Bi improved her academics and all the while researched ideal idol companies, figuring out a plan that would be fit to pursue her idol career. When she showed this plan to her parents, they approved and allowed her to study abroad in Japan (at this point she was fluent in Japanese.) At fifteen she moved in with her host parents the Tanaka's, who at first were hesitant about letting her stay but soon grew to treat her as their own daughter, giving her the nickname "Bibi". When it was time for her to move back to Korea, her parents almost begged her to stay because of their financial situation. This worked out for Dam Bi as she was thrilled, and soon auditioned for I MY ME's idol project. She was surprised when the judges were blown away with her performance, and it was no shock when they offered her a position.
