Burbridge is an Englishman who makes a living hunting/poaching in Kenya, Africa. While there is no official leader of the group, he has essentially taken on the role, and most of the other men respect him, though he clashes with Koontz. Despite his questionable career, Burbridge is very much a gentlemen and cares for the people he works with. He served in the British Royal Army, however when he was ordered to leave two wounded friends behind on the battlefield, he became disillusioned with his Country, and moved to Kenya. He tends to have a patriarchal care for the other hunters he works with... but this care will soon be put to the test.

Burbridge is highly inspired by the character of Roland Tembo in "The Lost World: Jurassic Park," and I'm looking for similar deliveries. Especially in the script where it indicates "(Not skipping a beat)", I'm imagining a delivery very similar to his "speech" to Ludlow, which can be viewed on YouTube here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=seCERpBIcSo

  • "(Calmly) Mr. Koontz... Be a good chap now and let Graham go... or the next bolt won't be a warning shot... and we'll see how tough you are against a pack of your precious raptors without a "marble sack" to guide you."

  • "(not missing a beat) Well it seems that's about when your maturity came to a screeching halt, as you seem entirely too fixated on trying to prove your tallywacker is much bigger than it probably is."

  • "(sternly/annoyed) I don't have anymore answers than either of you, and ultimately it doesn't matter right now. What matters is that we need to move. (darkly) There are tyrannosaur tracks not far up the river. Fairly fresh. It would be unwise of us to stay in one place too long. (sternly) Now move."
