Say something you think would fit
The instructor walks in the room, harmonizing.
[Cheerfully] *Scatting* (Looks at the class) "Well how about that. You guys managed to survive Class D, but trust me, Things are only going to get tougher from here on out.
Oh, where are my manners? I forgot to introduce myself! The name's (insert whatever name suits you for now), but you can call me (insert whatever works for now). I will be your Instructor for Class C. I'm gonna be blunt here, if you thought the fatalities from your last class was brutal, believe me when I say I've seen 5x more occur in my presence.
[Serious] Heed my warning carefully: You have very little margin for error. Just one little hiccup can get you killed, so unless you have a god-sent memory, I strongly suggest you take notes. It can save you in a long run."
Well hello again! Thanks for the audition! I love the optimism you gave this character. It makes it seem like she's not worried about anything at all. I'm gonna go ahead and add that trait to the character. I have a few critiques: It seems like you ran through all of the lines without pausing to catch your breath or let the moment sink in. I would just ask to leave some pauses here and there so the audience can keep up. The part when you said, "I'm gonna be blunt here...", there's a certain way I'd like that to be interpreted, but it's kinda hard to explain. It's like, you want to say it in a way where it's as if you're saying it with a bit of hesitation..? I don't know. Again, it's REALLY hard to explain. If it would help, I wouldn't mind recording the lines in the way I think would work for you for reference. This audition was really good. I would say just throw in some pauses if anything I can clearly point out. If you want the reference recorded, I can get on the mic and do it for ya. Just say the words. Hope this helps! Keep going! You're REEEEAAAAAAALY there! Just got a very, very small adjustment to make.
Oh wow, thanks so much for the feedback! I'll definitely try to take more breaks and I'll re-do the "I'm gonna be blunt" a few different ways to see if I can get it the way you want it. Thanks again!
