Merzul is the leader of "the sanctum", the hideout for outlawed mages. He introduces the player to the story and his mission to find and free Narathzul Arantheal, the allied shadow born. Merzul is many hundreds of years old, but has the appearance and voice of a man in his late 40's. He's very mysterious and wise.
The script has about 200 lines.
The common man in the street believes in the Creator as well as six other Gods. Actually, it is not false because let me tell you, these powers do exist. The Gods are not only in the imagination of the people and the words of the priest, but also in reality.
Know this: only the Tel'lmaltath, the Shadow God, has the power to lead the Order to victory. His coming is written in the so-called Predetermination; it is only a matter of time until he arises. It will be Narathzul Arantheal.
If you come across any mages here in the Middlerealm that attack you, then they are members of an association that used to be called Etronar and was based in Erothin. The chancellor Barateon drove them from there in his efforts to ban magic, and since then they have been enemies of anyone who does not belong to them.
