Champions of The Melting Pot (Webcomic Dub)
MRodriguez for Xero
Xero is the main character of the series, being labeled as the "Protagonist". He's about as default and cliche for the main character as you can possibly get. He's mostly just a character that people can see themselves relating to more than the rest of the cast. He's lazy, he procrastinates, he doesn't know what he's gotten himself into, and he just wants to go home. If I were to give him a voice, it would be one that clearly has lost care for life because of how cruel life itself already is. I'm sure many of you can relate. That doesn't mean I don't want you to not put effort into his voice, because there are times where he will get freaked out or be sarcastic or something, and you'll need to put more effort into those. At the end of the day, he's supposed to be relatable.
EDIT: I feel as if most people are making Xero sound TOO depressed. Instead, why don't we try to take a different approach and make him sound more like what you'd expect from a "Default Anime Protagonist".
Please note that this character has the most lines within the entire comic, you will be needed a lot.

I suppose I do need to get a job, I can't pay for that student loan otherwise. (Page 6)
Nope, nothing makes sense anymore, I'm not even sure why I've tried making sense of it. The sad part of it all? I'm probably still going to try. (Page 60)
YOU GAVE HIM A GUN?!? (Page 32)
Hey there! Thanks for auditioning Xero! I like your voice a lot but I do have a few tips! The first line was perfect, the second line should be delivered with a more optimistic tone, the happiness is supposed to contrast the depressed wording of it all, as Xero is holding a fake smile when he says it. As for the third line, try delivering it as one would if somebody has a gun pointed to you, instead of having it sound like he's complaining about it. Other than that, pretty good voice! Would love to see a re-audition!
Thanks! I'm putting up a re-audition today, I'll be sure to keep your critiques in mind.
