Original Animated Series: Super Gal
Uncle Lumpy for The Nickler
The Nickler, is Super Gal's lamest and greatest arch enemy:
Super Gal’s first archenemy. Surviving from one a tragedy of a backstory: losing his high school, sweetheart, because he was a nickel short of paying the bill at dinner, he turned to a life of crime, and became The Nickler! Weak, ugly, and incompetent, the only good thing about this villain is that he never gives up! Should have been a one-time villain, he keeps coming back, wanting the sweet success of having bested his arch, rather than have succeeding taking over the world.
I'm looking for someone who can be menacing, but a bit goofy, and capture his low self-esteem and insecurites. I haven't fully decided on a high voice or a low voice, for comedy sake, so suprise me, on what you think best.
What I'm Looking For: John DiMaggio (Drakken from: Kim Possibe), Christopher McCullouch (The Monarch from: Venture Bros), Dan Povenmire (Dr. Doofenshmirtz from: Phineas and Ferb), and George S. Irving (Heat Miser from: A Year Without a Santa Claus)
*Serious* It's alright, Bill. (Pause) *Actually Sincere* Oh sorry! You know, I just can't tell any, of you apart, in uniform. (Awkward Pause) Ahem! (Clears Throat) Anyway, you two seemed to have no trouble collecting the funds, for my latest evil scheme.
Why the giant nickel? You ask? (Starts Reminiscing) See when I young--
Curse you! Super (Can't Remember Her Name), ...Super Makeup, Cover woman, ...girl? (Confident) Ah! Curse you, Super Gal! We will meet again! You haven't seen the last, of The Nickler! Muwhahaha--!
I want to thank you, for saying, "Thank You"! :) I appreciate politeness in people! As for your work, from what I heard, from your auditions and demo reel, I am quite impressed. It made my day, that you tried a Frank and Forrester approach on the henchman, because I adore MST3K. As for your first take of Nickler I was smiling, because it sounded just like Skeletor, to me, and you're second take, of him, like Dr. Scratchansniff. My only complaint, is that, I feel, your voice and inflection was great, but your performance, felt a little underdeveloped, like it is at intermediate level. But I do hear potential and talent, and I think you just need to push the character, inside the voice, and not just the voice sounding like the character. So I'd try to be a little more "over the top" on you're acting. On a different note, I will say, compared to the other auditions, you did nail, the delivery of Dick's last line, the "aside" bit the way I wanted. Its just wasn't the voice I was looking for, for the character. However, you are my favorite Nickler, so far, because, though I felt, I heard some really talented people, they just weren't the right voice, I was looking for. I liked your approach because it was menacing, but silly at the same time. Which is what I want, because the shows a comedy, and he's a villain who acts serious, but isn't suppose to be taken that way :) I'll definitely keep you in mind, but I'm not planning on casting, till close to deadline, I want to keep my options open, for awhile; but I do thank you for your audition, it was most enjoyable :)
