Hotaru fits herself into every crowd, it seems--the anime club, the writing club...anything she can get her hands on. Though not at the social butterfly level that Chiyo is, Hotaru teases and messes with Chiyo often, much to the annoyance of the girl. Hotaru finds this particularly hilarious, however--she doesn't take it too seriously. She's close to Misao, and they spend time reading together, as Hotaru's a bit better at English than Misao is and doesn't mind lending a hand. She enjoys adventure novels and plays the violin in her spare time, having studied it as a child. 

Hotaru's voice is one of our deeper ones, though not as low as it sounds. Her harmony-based tones compliment, not contrast, and this shows in the ways her solos suit the other girls'.
