Judith Holland
Judith is a wealthy European woman focused on status and her own security. She is a trophy wife and reluctant step-mother.
Werner and Judith Holland had what anybody would describe as the perfect marriage. Werner was wealthy, and Judith was beautiful; the two turned heads at most high-born parties and events. Exactly what Judith wanted… well, almost; there was the matter of Little Bernhardt, just 4 years old, who was so excited to finally have a mother. Bernhardt still remembers being dressed up in his little tux and being entrusted with the responsibility of bringing his father the hand-fastening tie. So many people complimented him on how big and handsome he was. Everyone kept telling her that she was so lucky to be getting a beautiful little boy. People joked about how lucky she was that she didn't have to give birth to him herself. She maintained a good face and laughed, but what she couldn't tell anyone was how awkward she felt with him around. How his little clingy hands made her skin crawl, how his little hand-drawn pictures of the two of them just felt wrong, how, whenever he called her mommy, she felt trapped.
For many years, Bernhardt tried with great failure to adopt Judith as his mother, though their relationship didn’t become properly abusive until Bernhardt accidentally exposed his father's infidelity at a public party. Unable to bring herself to be adversarial to her husband, she instead blamed Bernhardt for destroying her marriage and never forgave him. Over time, she would turn their home life far more toxic than it already was, causing Werner to abandon his relationship with his other son, Victor, and develop a growing coldness for Bernhardt.
