How to Apply / Audition: 🔥
Please submit a link to your portfolio, specifically highlighting sequential art, animatics, comic pages, or past storyboards. (You do not need to sketch a custom scene for this audition unless you want to!)
Project Overview:
The overarching story has been planned and made, and we have a couple scripts already complete. Please note: we make scripts scene by scene for animatics: where we don't make a script for a full episode but rather in chunks for 1-2 minute videos. As you may have guessed - storyboarding and animation takes a long time, so this keeps things realistic.
Your job will be to translate the script and audio into clear visual sequences.
Responsibilities: 👀
Create rough, sequential thumbnails/sketches based on the provided script and voice tracks. It's ok if it's not perfect - this is the project where you can safely practice your skill! As an animation student myself, I know the grind of learning and trying to get better at art. Don't fret - I respect your efforts. I will give you feedback on the scene as the director, and as a fellow artist who's been in your shoes, so we can adjust it together.
Convey character acting, camera angles, pacing, and framing to the best of your ability.
Be able to search for references (images) based off of the scene and vibe.
Revise panels based on director feedback before handing them off to the animators.
✨ What We Provide: ✨
Finalized script and voice acting audio files.
Character concept art and reference sheets. Please note: since we are early in process, not all characters have reference sheets. If a character needs to be drawn, I will sketch the character full body for you so you get the idea. Again, I believe perfectionism stalls projects so as long as it works, we're good.
[Optional: Animatic scratch tracks or temporary songs].
Requirements:
Ability to convey emotion, action, and clear continuity between panels. (Share your best work)
Open to feedback and revisions.
Deliver digital files in PNG/JPG format or as an MP4.
Respond on Discord with 1-2 days. The sooner the better.
Whatever software works for you, works.
