Edward "Blackstorm" Thorne

CAPTAIN EDWARD "BLACKSTORM" THORNE — Pirate Council

Age range: Mid-40s (character is 45)

Voice type: Low, deliberate, commanding — the kind of voice that doesn't need volume to control a room

Character: A living legend of the seas, Thorne commands fear without ever raising his voice. Known for sailing directly into storms and emerging victorious, he's as calm as he is terrifying. His presence alone can silence a room — or start a war.

Voice direction: Economy of words and absolute stillness are the goal — every line should feel final, like there's no point arguing further. The performance lives in restraint; a single cane strike on the floor should carry more weight than shouting ever could.

Audition Lines:

1. (Total command, minimal effort)

"Can we begin?"

2. (Dry, cutting authority)

"Stories tend to improve themselves with retelling." — (beat) — "You'd be surprised."

3. (Cold precision, veiled threat)

"Truth is expensive around here, Cartographer."
