He is an optimistic person but has a hard time finding substance or connection in anything (there are a few exceptions). He comes off cheerful at first glance, but he’s always having a hard time to actually be happy. He is very blunt and speaks out his own mind even though the things he can say are rude, but is sensitive towards the feelings of others and values the life of others and does whatever he can to help.

Isaac, we’ve known each other for years, what do you mean you don’t know me? I’m Slate, your best friend? Did you get amnesia or something?
My mom didn’t want to name me Blue since it was too generic, so she named me Slate instead since it was close to blue and it was a unique name.
It’s not a phase, mom! I’m just born this way!
