Rowan Flint

ROWAN FLINT — Pirate Council Captain

Age range: Late 30s (character is 38)

Voice type: Smooth, measured — a voice that never seems to rush, even under pressure

Character: A master manipulator who plays the long game. Rowan prefers strategy and alliances over violence, and every word he speaks is deliberate — rarely without a hidden second meaning. He smiles constantly, which should feel more unsettling than warm.

Voice direction: Pleasant on the surface, calculating underneath — the goal is a voice that makes the listener (and other characters) uneasy without ever raising in volume or obviously "playing villain." Precision over menace.

Audition Lines:

1. (Pleasant, probing)

"You must be the cartographer." — (beat) — "Fair. Rowan Flint."

2. (Deliberate reframing, unsettling calm)

"Not whether the map exists. Everyone already believes it does. The real question is where it leads."

3. (Quietly damning, final)

"She's aboard the Scarlet Tempest." — (beat) — "Real." — (beat) — "Good luck with that."
