Jessica Aymara

Jessica is Sayani's birth mother. She's resourceful and hardworking and cares a lot about her two sons, Sayani and Shinchi. She was adopted from Peru at a very early age by an American family. Jessica spent much of her teenage years trying to reconnect with her people and culture, ultimately leading to her entering a Peruvian student exchange program. Hence, she named her two sons Andean names.

Despite growing up in a loving family, she had to struggle to get to where she is today while Sayani was little. These experiences shaped her firm style of parenting. Even if she seems to ask a lot of her sons at times, she does have limits, like when she sobs begging Sayani not to join the YNDS.

She has a strong sense of justice and stays informed on the politics of the series throughout. Even though she's generally polite and considerate, she can be smug when someone does something stupid or unfair. Her criticisms at her kids though are usually direct and blunt.

As serious as Jessica seems, she can be cute, quirky and creative too.

This is a role for Hispanic/Latinx women. Ideally, Jessica should be voiced by someone whose heritage is in close proximity to Andean cultures.
