Detective Lewis represents the reader's position in that she's basically an observer that makes judgments based  on the surrounding situations. Her initial role is to lead the NYPD  alongside Agent Bishop, but she soon discovers his true intentions and sides with the mutants. She's a strong-willed person who doesn't take her job lightly.
