Monokuma is the self-proclaimed Headmaster of Hope's Peak Academy.
On the surface, Monokuma is somewhat laid-back, goofy, and even comical, especially with his innocent-sounding "Puhuhuhu" laugh. But despite his teddy bear-esque appearance, Monokuma is incredibly cruel and sadistic. He takes great joy in the suffering and despair of the students and has the power to keep them from resisting. Few people ever cross his path, even fewer live to talk about it...
His official English voice actor is Brian Beacock.
Monokuma's voice should be high, having a laid-back, almost goofy feel to it. The character is technically male, but ladies are free to audition for him as well
[Explaining] Now then, let's begin with a basic explanation of the class trial. During the class trial, you will present your arguments for who the killer is, and vote for "whodunnit" ("who done it"). If you vote correctly, then only the blackened will receive punishment. But if you pick the wrong person... I'll punish everyone BESIDES the blackened, and that person will earn the right to leave this island!
[Impatient] Can you hurry up and decide who's the blackened already? Time runs out when I get bored!
