Teri is a Gypserian guard and supporting character in Tandem Dark.

Teri is a relatively normal, grounded guy who is mostly trying to get through his day and do his job. He takes his responsibilities as a Gypserian guard seriously, but he isn't naturally dramatic or overly enthusiastic about his work. Sometimes he'd really rather not deal with whatever nonsense has landed in front of him.

There is often a slight cynicism and dryness in his voice, particularly when he's annoyed, inconvenienced, or dealing with something ridiculous. His humor should feel natural and understated rather than like he's deliberately trying to make jokes.

Teri should come across as relatable and human. He can complain, become irritated, make dry observations, or sound completely tired of a situation. However, he isn't constantly miserable or sarcastic. He is capable of being genuinely friendly, relaxed, amused, and happy.

When situations become serious, Teri can also display genuine anger, urgency, fear, and determination. The actor needs enough emotional range to make his more intense moments believable without losing the ordinary, grounded quality of the character.

Voice direction: Adult male • natural • grounded • slightly cynical • dry sense of humor • approachable • expressive when necessary.

Acting requirements: The actor should be comfortable portraying casual conversation, dry humor, annoyance, cynicism, happiness, anger, urgency, frustration, and serious dramatic moments. Natural delivery is especially important for this character.

For now, I don’t listen to any of the audio submissions until closer to the deadline, just because I don’t want to accidentally become biased early on. But I’ll definitely be going through everyone’s auditions once we get closer to the deadline!
