Black Jack

Black Jack is a confrontational Arizona radio host with a rigid moral worldview, a short fuse, and a deep need to correct what he sees as stupidity, hypocrisy, or disorder. He is Catholic, argumentative, intense, and convinced that most problems would improve if people simply admitted he was right. He is not stupid, but his certainty often outruns his judgment. His biggest flaw is moral authoritarianism: he wants clarity, obedience, and accountability so badly that he often becomes the chaos he claims to oppose.

Voice Description
His voice should sit between Walter Sobchak from The Big Lebowski and Al Pacino in The Devil’s Advocate: loud, forceful, gravelly, morally charged, and capable of sudden escalation. He argues with everything he's got, like he's always performing a sermon. His rhythm should be sharp and emphatic, with bursts of yelling and dramatic stress on key words.

Performance Notes
Play him as intense, defensive, and self-righteous, but not one-note angry. He should believe he is being reasonable even when he is clearly losing control. His comedy comes from the gap between how logical he thinks he sounds and how explosive he actually is. Avoid making him a generic yelling conservative or cartoon bully. He should have conviction, insecurity, intelligence, and genuine moral panic underneath the volume.
