Bauzz is a Gypserian guard and recurring supporting character in Tandem Dark.

Bauzz has the presence of a big, rough uncle who is actually a sweetheart most of the time. He can look and sound intimidating when necessary, but his everyday personality is laid-back, warm, easygoing, and approachable.

He is not someone who is constantly looking for a fight. Bauzz is generally comfortable taking things as they come, and there is an easygoing quality to the way he interacts with the people around him. However, when a situation calls for it, he is completely capable of becoming rough, intimidating, stern, or angry.

His relationship with Navi is an important part of his personality. The two frequently go back and forth with one another, giving the actor plenty of opportunities for teasing, arguing, playful irritation, dry responses, and natural comedic timing. Their exchanges should feel familiar, like two people who know exactly how to get on each other's nerves.

Bauzz is also very set in his ways when it comes to the Gypserian world and its traditions. He has lived within that culture for a long time and has strong ideas about how things are supposed to work. Even though he is generally kindhearted, he can become stubborn or dismissive when those beliefs are challenged.

This is an important part of the character. His warmth should not make him feel like someone who automatically agrees with everyone. Bauzz can genuinely care about someone while still strongly disagreeing with them.

Voice direction: Adult male • mature • warm • big personality • laid-back • slightly rough • approachable • capable of becoming intimidating.

Acting requirements: Strong natural delivery and emotional range. The actor should be comfortable portraying warmth, amusement, teasing, stubbornness, irritation, happiness, concern, anger, authority, and more serious dramatic moments.

For now, I don’t listen to any of the audio submissions until closer to the deadline, just because I don’t want to accidentally become biased early on. But I’ll definitely be going through everyone’s auditions once we get closer to the deadline!
