I was recently told that my submissions are far too quiet. I still have the files for all of my auditions, and if you want me to, I can up the volume and try again, or I can leave it all for the directors to decide. Terribly sorry about the inconvenience; I tend to edit at 100% and didn't realize I needed to compensate for it all. Let me know what you'd prefer me to do.

(While Matchwood is written here as male, the gender's not set in stone, and I'm very open to hearing a female, or an androgynous take on the character. All voice types are welcome; it's the performance and overall vibe that matters most!)

Description: Having spent most of his life as a sentient boat, this former Kia Willow tree turned warship, and now ferry for the people of Kettle's Reach yearns for the adventurous life he once had. Having been felled at the tender age of 33 and now pushing 280, this old vessel has been wisened by a long life at sea. Don't let his age fool you, though; having been itching for fun for the past several decades, he tackles this adventure with a keen sense of mischief and more life than ever before.

Voice: Outgoing, wise, and sometimes too cantankerous for his own good. Match should sound like an old friend you've just met; happy to lend you sage advice with a warm resonance and a hearty southern drawl.

However, his consummate honesty often leads him to speak his mind, no matter how painful it might be to hear, often punctuating each sentence as if it were obvious.

Despite his age, Matchwood is one of the most energetic members of the cast, as prone to bursting into fits of laughter and disjointed songs as he is to bouts of wisdom and seafaring stories.

The sides they read from:
  • (Friendly) Well climb aboard son and make yourself comfy. I'll be damned if I'm gonna hang around here all day!

  • (Reassuring) Don't be silly! It's who you are. Change your name if *you* wish to, not because a foolish old vessel makes a joke at your expense.

  • (Mildly irritated to enthusiastic) You're not listening to me are you? Let me spell it out for you. This thing is very, very big. Big! Understand? Large, enormous in-fact. Big body, huge fins, and it's teeth... Teeth that size are difficult to miss. I tell you this my sticky friend... a dentist could retire after only one visit from this thing!
