Vocalist / Vocal Texture Artist

This role is specifically for the musical and atmospheric side of the project. Traditional voice acting is being cast separately.

I'm looking for a vocalist with strong pitch control, a clean/airy tone, and an interest in experimental vocal recording and sound design. These recordings will primarily be used as layers and textures within Wave/Phonk/Electronic music, often with significant processing afterward.

I'm especially interested in:

  • Airy sustained Ahh / Ooh / Eeh vocals

  • Smooth vowel morphs and evolving vocal pads

  • Humming and melodic textures

  • Ethereal / angelic / haunting tones

  • Choir-style vocals and stacked harmonies

  • Breathier, intimate layers

  • Drones and long sustained notes

  • Short melodies and improvised vocal phrases

  • Multiple takes for layering, harmonizing, pitching, reversing, stretching, reverb, etc.

  • Experimental vocal sounds and textures

You do not need to be a traditional lead singer. I'm much more interested in tone, control, musicality, and the ability to make your voice sound interesting as an instrument.

A high-quality microphone and clean recording environment with a low noise floor are required. Binaural / stereo / unusual microphone setups are also a HUGE plus.

Creative experimentation is encouraged. I have references and specific sounds I'm chasing, but I also want to hear what your voice can naturally do.

Voice description:
  • female adult
  • female young adult
The sides they read from:
  • Sustain a soft, airy “Ahh → Ooh → Eeh,” smoothly morphing between each vowel. Hold each long enough to demonstrate pitch and tone.

  • Create a short wordless melody using humming, “Ahh,” “Ooh,” or any combination. Improvise something you feel fits an ethereal, dark, dreamlike atmosphere.

  • Show me something YOUR voice does especially well. This can be a harmony, choir tone, unusual texture, vocal run, layered idea, or another musical vocal technique. Surprise me.
