Corporal Adesso is a jaded, moderately corrupt officer in the NCR Military Police. She has been tasked with apprehending a group of deserters on the run after they killed their incompetent commanding officer. She is purposefully dragging her feet in order to let them escape.

Sometimes their incompetent CO who's the general’s kissing cousin keeps getting good people killed trying to cover up his quickly-mounting pile of fuckups, lest they hurt his career.
And sometimes a rogue hand grenade just happens to roll into his tent at night. Maybe there’s a connection between these things, who’s to tell?
